Akina kept throwing glances in Kyle’s direction the entire time he drove them to school. Something had been off with him, he wasn’t talking or laughing or making his weird comments which worried Akina. Everything had been okay when they had gotten home yesterday, then he had gone up to his room and hadn’t come down for supper or said a word to anyone. He just locked himself up in his room while loud music blurred from the speakers.
“Is something wrong?” Akina finally had the courage to ask him.
Kyle had a blank expression as he glanced at her momentarily and then went back to looking at the road. He didn’t say anything, just kept driving as if she hadn’t asked him a question.
Akina bit her lip. She didn’t like seeing Kyle like that, it bothered her that he wasn’t his usual cheerful self
