“I’m highly disappointed in most of you,” Mr. Smyth said as he handed them their pop quiz back. “Almost all of you failed to score above 60 and that in itself shows that you do not take my class seriously.”
It was her last class for the day and Akina was already feeling exhausted. She hoped she wasn’t one of the people who had failed to score above a 60 otherwise she might just have to have another trip to the nurse’s office.
“Akina,” Mr. Smyth said and then smiled at her, “you are the only one who seems to take my class seriously. Congratulations on getting a perfect score.” He handed over her paper and the smile that appeared on Akina’s face was huge. She had scored a 100.
