Chapter 35
Daniel found me in my room pacing the floor.
I told him.
His eyebrows rose and he stepped forward.
Lightning danced around my hands and up my arms.
Daniel’s fists clenched.
Daniel closed his eyes for a few seconds and took a deep breath. He ignored the sparks and took me into his arms. For a second I wanted to push him away and be by myself, but once I felt the buzzing and the warmth of his arms around me, I knew I needed the comfort only he could give me. I soaked it in and took a slow, deep breath.
I held him tighter.
He squeezed me.
I cringed.
I took another deep breath and let it out slowly.
He rubbed his chin.
The trainees weren’t the only people in this place wearing black, but we were only ones the wearing these suits.
