Chapter 19
Daniel turned and smiled, his dark hair hanging down over his left eyebrow.
My heart skipped a beat or two and felt like it had swelled to twice its normal size in my chest. I could hardly breathe and warmth spread through me.
So much had happened since the last time I’d actually seen him. It had been so long and I’d felt like I would lose my sanity.
My legs didn’t wait for me to decide what to do. I was walking over to him before I realised what I was doing.
Daniel stepped forward, arms out.
My breath caught in my throat and I fell into his warm embrace.
The jolt of electricity from the Lightning Connection made me jump. I’d forgotten about it, but I relished the buzzing sensation that went with it.
