Micah's POV
After Sarah's little out burst, Jayce seemed even more on edge. She had been worried a lot lately with this wolf in the woods. She grew up here so I don't understand her fear, unless she doesn't know.
"Come on little bird, let's get you a bag packed." I always had a pet name for her. Some pissed her off and some made her blush, I loved to see her blush. She was so cute trying to hide it. Trying to act like I didn't notice it was hard. Like really hard. She did something to me. I can't explain it. She always worries that she is the reason I don't have any girlfriends, and she's right. I don't want anybody but her. It has always been her. From the first time we met, it was love at first sight. Her tiny, perfect body is framed by fire red hair. She usually keeps her hair up until I snatch the tie from her. I love seeing those curls stretch down her back. And those eyes, my goodness those eyes. Ice blue. Her lips are as plump as the juiciest peaches and I just want to see if they taste as sweet as they look.
"Hey lover boy. Take a picture, they last longer." Jayce's older brother Jackson said as he came around the corner.
"Just tell her dude. You would be surprised by her reaction. She's been in love with you for years. You two need to stop lying to each other and just admit your feelings." Jackson was right. Maybe tonight would be the night.
"Who needs to do what now? Jackson are you harassing my guest again?" Jayce was walking back down the stairs carrying a bag way to big for her and a blanket to match.
"Nah, just havin' a little chit chat. Ain't that right lover boy?" Jackson walked away laughing like a maniac.
"He's alright, little bird. Just looking out for his baby sister, that's all. Let me get that for you.' I tried to take the blanket but Jayce pulled back from me. That's new. She will usually, and very gladly I might add, pile stuff in my arms to carry.
"Nope, you get the bag. I have a surprise wrapped up in here that is not for your eyes."
What was my little bird planning? I waved back to Jackson as we headed out. He made kissy faces at us until Jayce turned and gave him "the glare." You know the one.
"So, what's for dinner?" That girl was always thinking about food.
"Whatever you want baby." As long as she was dessert, I don't care what the main course is.
