I heard water dripping ringing in my ears. Suddenly, I felt cold from my insides crawling to my skin. I'm so cold. I'm so scared.
I know I'm not dead but the thought of them cutting me into pieces hunted me. In my nearly conscious mind, I saw Rylan came back to his siblings. Leaving me behind to die.
No, Rylan. Don't go.
I stretched my hand to reach him, but he was drifting away.
"No. I'm cold. Please, don't leave me."
I felt warm hands touched mine. I opened my eyes and saw Rylan.
"I'm here. You're not alone."
I heard firewood crackling somewhere near us. Rylan was on top of me, naked. He slowly lifted his body to make a gap between us. He took the sheet that was covering us and laid it on me.
