Chapter 2:Rose POV

I turned to walk away, but Lisa's concerned expression caught my attention. Her eyes scanned my body and face, searching for any sign of injury. "Did he hurt you? What did he say?" she asked, her voice laced with worry. Lisa is my best and only friend, and I'm grateful to have her in my life. She's an omega like me, but unlike me, she's special. She receives preferential treatment from everyone, including the teachers. No one wants to be on her bad side because her dad is best friends with the alpha, and everyone respects her. I met Lisa on my first day at Bloodline Academy. I was studying the school map, trying to find my next class, when I accidentally bumped into someone. We both fell to the floor, and I quickly stood up to apologize. Lisa smiled, and we introduced ourselves. It turned out we were both looking for the same class, and we found it together. From that moment on, we clicked, and our friendship grew. We've been inseparable ever since. Despite our differences, Lisa and I have a strong bond. She's the wild, crazy type who loves partying, while I'm the gentle, stay-at-home type. We're worlds apart, but she's still my best friend, and I wouldn't have her any other way. Lisa is a stunning blonde with tanned skin, hazel eyes, and a model's height. She's a beautiful person inside and out, and I'm lucky to have her in my life. As Lisa continued to scan my body and face, I realized that I needed to reassure her. "I'm fine, Lisa. He just yelled at me, that's all," I said, trying to downplay the situation. But Lisa wasn't convinced. She knows me too well, and she can see right through me. "Rose, don't lie to me. I can see the fear in your eyes. What did he say?" she asked, her voice firm but gentle. I sighed, knowing that I couldn't hide the truth from Lisa. "He said I'm going to pay for what I did," I admitted, feeling a shiver run down my spine. Lisa's expression turned angry, and she clenched her fists. "That bastard," she muttered. "I'll take care of him, don't worry." "No, don't worry about me, let's just get to our next class," I said with a smile, trying to reassure Lisa. But Lisa wasn't convinced. "You always say that, Rose. I'm worried about you. You know I can talk to his dad and try to..." she started to say, but I cut her off. "No, Lisa," I said firmly, holding her hands in mine. "I know you're worried, but please don't worry about me. I like what he does to me, and one day, he'll change and see that I'm the love of his life." I smiled, trying to convince her that everything would be okay. But Lisa just laughed. "You've been saying that for three years now, and I haven't seen any changes," she said, her voice laced with skepticism. "He's still treating you like dirt, Rose. When are you going to wake up and see that he's not good for you?" I sighed, feeling frustrated that Lisa didn't understand. "He's nicer," I said, trying to defend Adrien. But Lisa just laughed again. "You're delusional, Rose. This isn't some romance novel. Besides, don't you want to find your mate?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Mate? I had never really thought about that before. I would be turning 18 soon, and all werewolves got their mates when they turned 18. I had heard of mates and mate bonds, but I had always thought it was a bit silly. A mate was supposed to be your soulmate, someone who would love you, feel your pain, and cherish you. But why would you want to spend the rest of your life with someone you had just met? It sounded more like a curse than a blessing. And besides, I didn't want a mate. I wanted Adrien. I would probably reject my mate for Adrien, and I strongly believed that he would do the same for me. We were meant to be together, and no one else would ever come between us. "You know I don't want a mate, I don't need one," I said, trying to sound confident. But Lisa stopped abruptly, her eyes widening in shock. "Are you crazy?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief. "Of course, you need a mate. You can't survive in this cruel world without one." The bell rang, signaling the end of our conversation, and we made our way to our next class. The day passed in a blur, and soon it was time to go home. But I couldn't leave without Lisa, so I searched for her face in the crowd of faces in the hallway. That's when my eyes landed on her - she was with Travis and some other people from our class. I walked towards her, and she smiled when she noticed my presence. "Rose, this is Landon, Sasha, and you already know Travis," she said excitedly, pointing to the people standing in front of us. I could feel Travis's eyes on me, and my cheeks started heating up. "Hi, Rose," I heard the girl I now know as Sasha say, and the rest greeted me with smiles. "Hi, everyone," I responded, trying to sound friendly. "Travis here is having a party," Lisa said, looking at Travis and Travis smiled, looking at me shyly. "And he would love you to come," she continued. A party? Parties aren't really my thing. Why make unnecessary noise and drink alcohol when you can just sit home and read a book? "I don't know if I want to..." I started to say, but Travis interrupted me. "Please, Rose, I would really like you to be there," he said, looking at me with puppy dog eyes, and I couldn't help but smile. Travis is quite good-looking, with his jet black hair reaching shoulder length, his brown eyes, and his spotless pale skin. He's tall and thin, with the body of a model. How can I say no to that face? One party won't hurt, right? "Fine," I said, and his face lit up. He smiled, showing his white teeth. "Thank you, Rose. I promise you won't regret it," he said with a smile, and I smiled back. Sasha whispered something in his ear, and he nodded and turned back to me. "I have to go now, but I'll see you on Friday," he said, looking into my eyes. "Bye, Rose," he said and walked away, and Sasha and Landon followed suit. I watched him walk away, feeling a little confused. "Hmmm, somebody seems to be blushing," Lisa teased, and I laughed. "He's just a friend, Lis," I replied, trying to downplay my feelings. "Does he know that?" Lisa asked with a small smirk. Travis thinks I have a huge crush on him and would like me to be his first. Ever since the incident in the cafeteria, he has been acting nicer and different. He even bought me gifts, which I all rejected nicely. He's a good guy, but he's not my type. Adrien is all I want. "Shut up, Lis," I said, rolling my eyes at her, and she laughed, raising her hands up in defeat. "Fine, Mrs. Blackwell, let's go home," she said, holding my hand as we walked out of the school gate. "Mrs. Blackwell, Rose Blackwell," I whispered to myself, savoring the sound of the words. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of it. One day, it would become a reality. I would be Mrs. Blackwell, Adrien's wife, and the thought sent shivers down my spine.
