Chapter 5:Rose POV

I woke up with a plan in mind - MAKE ADRIEN JEALOUS. I know it sounds dumb, but I have to try. He seems to be losing interest in me, and I can't let that happen. I wore my nicest clothes - a pair of black jeans and a white crop top. I wore my white sneakers and did a little makeup, just enough to enhance my features. I left my brown wavy hair to flow, and I looked back at myself in the mirror. I looked really pretty, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. A little makeup can indeed work magic. I took my bag and walked downstairs to see my dad singing a familiar tune and flipping pancakes. I smiled and walked towards him, giving him a big hug. "Good morning, your highness," I greeted, taking a small bow. "Good morning, your beautifulness," he replied with a small bow, scanning my face from my glossed lips to my shaped eyebrows. "What's his name?" he asked, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Dad," I scolded, laughing. "It's not a boy, I just felt like looking pretty today." He laughed again, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You're always pretty, princess." Meet my dad - Austin Ross. Even at the age of 45, he still looks good. His brown hair is short and neatly trimmed, and his brown eyes look a little drained and dull, courtesy of his mate's death. I've heard people say that if a mate dies, the other either dies or goes crazy. But my dad didn't lose his mind nor did he try to attempt suicide. He cried and locked himself in a room for months, but he got over it. Maybe not completely, but he's doing better than before, and he looks better than before. "Here," he passed me a plate filled with pancakes and maple syrup,I took a bite. The taste of freshly made pancakes filled my taste buds, and I couldn't help but moan in satisfaction. My dad is quite the cook. "Hmm, this is good," I said, pointing to the food, and he smiled, showing off his not-so-white pair of teeth. "Eat up, or you'll be late for school," he said, and I ate and we chatted. I told him about school, and he told me about the pack house. When I was done with breakfast, I kissed him goodbye and made my way to school. I saw Lisa standing at the school gate, looking around and checking the wristwatch on her wrist. Her eyes widened when they landed on me. "Rose?" she asked, looking at my face and my dress with shock written all over her face. What a drama queen. It's just a little makeup. "Rose, you look amazing," she turned me around with a smile. "Heads are going to roll." Her smile was wide and beautiful. "It's just a little makeup, Lis. No one will notice." "Everyone is going to notice. Damn girl, you clean up nice," she said, and I couldn't help but blush. She has never complimented me this much before, but it was just a little makeup - just a little lip gloss, blush, eyeliner, and that's it. The bell rang, signaling it was time for our first class. "Let's get to class," I said, pulling her hand and walking into the school gate. The moment I walked into class, everybody's gaze was fixed on my face, including the teacher. I turned to Adrien, but his eyes were fixed on a black book, his black hair scattered around and some strains touching his forehead. Why isn't he looking at me? "Wow, you look amazing," a guy from the back commented, and everybody agreed in unison. The teacher cleared his throat. "Take your seat, the class is about to begin," he said, and we all sat down. I sat at the back of Adrien, keeping my gaze fixed on the back of his head, but he didn't once turn to look at me. Don't I look good enough for him? What did I do wrong? I applied enough lip gloss on my lips to make it glossy, drew my eye liner straight, and it looked okay. I didn't put too much blush on my cheeks. Why isn't he looking? "What happened 4679 thousand years ago?" The teacher snapped me out of my thoughts, standing in front of me, his hands wrapped together on his chest. Wait, what did he say? "Erm, I erm I do..." I stuttered, unsure of the answer. "4679 thousand years ago, the moon goddess gifted an omega with magical abilities to cast spells and protect himself," I heard a voice from behind me say. I turned to see Travis's smiley face, and I shot him a small smile. He saved my ass from getting humiliated. The teacher nodded but looked displeased. "Correct, but I was asking Miss Rose," he said, looking at me. "I'm sorry, I know the answer now," I smiled nervously, and he walked back to the front of the class to continue the lesson. Adrien still didn't say a word. The lesson ended, and the teacher left the class. People started charting, and Travis walked towards me with a smile. "Hey," he greeted me. "Hey, thanks for earlier. You really saved my ass back there," I said, smiling at him. "Anytime, you look really beautiful today," he said, looking into my eyes, and I felt my cheeks heat up. "Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself," I replied, and he smiled shyly. "We are having a small dinner. My mum is inviting some friends over, and she said I should also invite some friends. Would you like to come?" he asked. "Erm, I would l..." Before I could reply,I was interrupted by a familiar voice
