Chapter Twenty-Two: ArrestTogether they returned to the village, making the long journey in silence, like a repentant band of holy brothers, head bowed, deep in thought. Still being early, few people were about but as the two turned into the square, some old men gathered around the fountain, took fright at Salvador's appearance and scattered screaming, a stampede of wild frenetic prey fleeing from predators. Salvador snarled, went over to the fountain and splashed water over his head. Luis flopped down next to him.
“You see how things have not changed? Their ignorance disgusts me.”
Luis nodded. “What do we do now?”
