My eyes fluttered open to the saturated sunlight pouring out of the window. I immediately tossed over to the other side of the bed, squinting my eyes in the process.
Pushing out of my bed, I flung my covers to the side before getting dressed in decent clothing. Once I was done I made my way out of my room, walking down the corridor.
There was something terribly wrong and as soon as I stepped into the corridor, I felt it. I sensed it in the air and even my skin could tell that something was really wrong.
I went about my duties for the day, supervising cleaning, cooking and washing as usual but that thick blanket of absolute wrongness hung over my head like a reminder that something didn't feel right.
