Chapter 12

220 Words
The next day, the Thompson family arrived at our house, with Ethan in tow. Rachel also came with her family, and it was lovely to see our friends and family mingling together. The party was filled with laughter, music, and delicious food. When it was time for gift-giving, Ethan handed Lily a beautifully wrapped gift. She unwrapped it to reveal an exquisite doll, one that she had been eyeing for a long time. Her face lit up with joy, and she thanked Ethan with a big hug. As the party raged on with the DJ spinning lively tunes and guests mingling around the house, Ethan turned to me and suggested, "Want to take a walk through the house?" I nodded enthusiastically, and we slipped away from the crowd. I led Ethan into my secret hiding spot, a cozy little nook in the backyard surrounded by trees and bushes. It's a place I really love to go to think or hide when I need some time alone. Ethan seemed curious about the spot as he looked around. "I like it here," I said, sitting down on a bench in the nook. Ethan sat down beside me, looking at the surroundings. "It's really chill. You come here a lot?" I nodded. "Yeah, when I need to think or just be by myself."
