An Unexpected Proposal

Adhena was in complete shock when she heard the news

"who is Chris? What you meant by he wants to marry me"

Mr hunt replied " You don't remember Chris. Christopher Adam he used to come here when your grandpa was alive. "

That name brought back a lot of memories to her. This would have been a happy news if she can change some bad incidents happened years back. But after her sister's disappearance Everything changed in her life .So for her now this a bitter news which brings a lot of pain. She's no longer aware of her own feeling. Also he is no longer that Chris which she knows. More than that she was shocked that her dad was ready for it.

"And you are ok with it. After sister's incident you were the one who was strongly against the Adams family. you even blamed grandpa for supporting. You did so much they have to leave the company which was build on their partnership"

" That's all in the past. That had nothing to do with Chris"

She can't believe what her dad said. He blamed whole Adams family for everything. The words said by him back then was like a fire which made the Adam family disappear. Now he is telling that's all in the past.

"may be it had nothing to do with Chris. Maybe it had nothing to do with Adam family. What happened back then had impacted Adam family more than us. So do you think after all this Chris wants to marry me"

Her dad's mistress made it more suspicious. Why she was so much interested in her marriage more than her niece whom she loves more than her.

Adhena said " If you are so interested why can't you let your so called niece to marry him".

She become little shocked and taken aback from what Adhena said.

" Oh I would have if he was interested in her. But he only had eye for you. I don't know what he sees in you to love you this much. You should feel lucky"

" Love? The last time I met him there was only hate in those eyes and If I was that much lucky. you wouldn't have been in this house"

Mr Hunt shouted" Adhena. How can you talk to her like that she was just trying to help you"

Adhena lost her patience. She replied " Help me.?Just like me you also know that she won't help me without any hidden motive. If some good guy really wanted to marry me she would have convinced you to broke that alliance. Now she is exaggerating so much I can only doubt"

Mr hunt said"She is doing this for the family there is no hidden agenda. "

"I know you guys are hiding something If you are not ready to tell me. It's ok. I am not sure what play you played so that Chris wants to marry me. Anyway I don't wanna to be part of this mess. That's my final answer"

"How can you say that. You are also part of hunts family"

" I was? When is last time you treated me and mom as a family member"

" I have helped in your studies also for your mom's treatment even if you were always ungrateful towards me. "

Adhena wanted to reply back But when she thought about her mom. She knows whatever he is doing is to show the people that he still treat us fairly. But only she knows how much she is in debt when his mistress and son enjoys everything. But whatever help she is getting even if it is not much she appreciates it since it helps her mom. So she was ready to bow her head and zip her mouth. She calmed herself and replied

"Dad I am so grateful for a whatever you did but..whatever happened to Anne we are not sure whether Adams family is part of it.However rich and powerful he is don't try to connect him to our family. I don't think he likes it and even I don't feel good about it. "

" Do you think I thought about this proposal and approached him. I know very well even if I have such an idea he will reject it. But this proposal is something he put forward.
