ALEX'S POINT OF VIEW
This young lady! You seem to have lost your sense of etiquette. Is it not your responsibility to greet the guests? Just as I was ready to make my way upstairs, I heard my mother's voice reverberating from the living room. Before turning around, I managed to muster a smirk at the stranger, who turned out to be one of Mom's visitors.
Good morning, everyone! Is everything going well for you? As I approached the seating area, I extended a kind greeting to the individual.
Two women and a man, all of whom were absolutely flawless in their attire, were seated on the sofa.
"Hi, my daughter, Alex Senel," the mother said. I was introduced to her by my mother, who smiled broadly and motioned for me to sit next to her. "She is the one," she said.
As she looked at me carefully, one of the women, who was roughly the same age as my mother, remarked, "She is beautiful."
"I am grateful to you." That beaded choker is absolutely stunning on you," I spoke to her as a compliment. As she reddened, she dismissed it as nothing out of the ordinary.
"Are you serious? I am grateful to you—"
Are you completely out of your mind? What's up?
Kerem's voice could be heard coming from my phone. There was still a call coming in.
"Shut up, you—" I halted as I noticed that my mother was looking at me. On the other hand, my father gave me a slight smile and conveyed to me in a hushed voice that I was on my own.
"Please excuse me. I'll be right back as soon as I can." I hurriedly got up and left the area where others were sitting.
At that moment, Mom made a sign for me to cancel the call, but I had to first speak with Kerem. When I got to the balcony, I took a look over the lake, which helped me to calm down my growing rage.
"Ok, Kerm! Do you have any doubts regarding what you just discussed?
It's true, love. At this very moment, it is the most talked about topic in the establishment. A tinge of eagerness could be heard in his voice.
That cretinous individual! Is he saying that he dumped me? In fact, he was the one who begged me to put his pants on! After I declined, he attempted to impose himself on me, and now he is calling me a w***e in response to my refusal? It is incomprehensible!
I had such a firm grip on the railing that I could not feel my hands. I clenched their grip.
Someone made a snapping motion with their fingers and said, "I swear I'll make him eat his words and—"
"Watch your language, woman." A masculine voice with a deep tone interrupted. He removed my earphones from my ears.
"How dare you?!" When I turned around, my eyes were blazing, but I found that I was staring into someone's focused gaze.
"Give them back!" I made an effort to take the earbuds from him, but he would not move.
"Love?" What exactly is going on? Are you still around? Although I was able to hear Kerem's voice on the phone, I was unable to respond.
"I said, Give them back!" I yelled, but he grabbed my phone and ended the call instead of letting go in response to my actions.
"You bas—"
I am Miss Senel! You are being called by the ma'am. As Fiona, the maid's daughter, made her appearance, she appeared anxious.
Hi, Fiona! I glared at the man, who appeared to be smirking as if he had won something, and told him to call me Alex and tell his mother that I will be there in a moment.
"I’m sorry, Alex, but Ma’am said you need to come now."
"Ugh! Mom!" As I mumbled curses, I let out a groan. As I did so, I inhaled deeply. "That's fine. Before he departs, I want you to make sure that you take my phone away from this criminal.
A wider grin appeared on the face of the so-called thief.
I made a U-turn and headed back in the direction of the seating area.
It's me, honey. As she spoke to the man who was standing next to her, the woman from earlier gushed, "She is absolutely ideal for our family."
"I’m sorry, what?" With an attempt at a pleasant grin, I inquired.
It's not a problem at all, my darling. I believe that you are the ideal candidate. It will be—"
As soon as the phone thief entered the room, she came to an abrupt halt.
"Please allow me to introduce my kid. The woman sighed and added, "He is such a workaholic; he is always glued to his phone, and he hardly ever makes time for his family."
"Mom, you know it’s not easy—"
He was interrupted by her with a smirk of dissatisfaction.
"You get it, son. But we’re not here to discuss work. We’re here to talk about the marriage!" She clasped her hands like a pleased child.
The man sighed, apparently disappointed, and sat near his father. The intense ocean blue color of his eyes was complemented by the Armani suit that he wore. It is possible that I would have acknowledged his attractiveness if he had not stolen my phone.
As he looked at his father and exchanged glances with him, he gave a little shake of his head and appeared displeased.
I was observing him in a curious manner. As soon as he had my attention, he proceeded to check me out without any guilt.
While I was chewing on my lips, his gaze continued to linger on them. I glared at him, and he smiled at me.
It was a pervert, I voiced.
"What do you think of marriage?" The silence was broken by the voice of his mother.
I only just managed to catch that part. Because I was so preoccupied with glaring at her son.
"What's up? Which marriage is it?" Amused, I inquired about it.
"Yours, beautiful," a young woman who was roughly the same age as me mentioned with a smile.
"Is it mine? This is a joke, right? Out of sheer disbelief, my voice shot up.
Dearest Alex, I love you. The purpose of their visit is to make a marriage proposal to you. "He is a—"
"Mom?" When I informed you that I don't want to be married just yet, you—"
I stood, which was a complete departure from who I am.
"Why don’t you want to marry?" When the older man looked at me, he smiled.
"I don't believe that I am prepared. There are some things that I have to get done first.
"Alex, you haven’t—"
My apologies, but getting married to your son is not something that interests me. The answer is no from me. I beg your pardon.
I drew my attention to the man who was still holding my phone. I snatched it out from his clutches and marched off in a rage.
Hold on. You can't just turn me down in front of my family all by yourself. His low voice halted me in my tracks.
I gave a smirk. Why is that? Does it hurt your ego? Poor boy!"
"You won’t say no when you know who I am."
"I don’t give a damn about you."
"Demirhan Academy. Tenth grade." He stopped before speaking again. "Arda Kaya."
I felt my entire body go numb as I heard his voice.
No. It is not possible... Are you sure?
