ALEX'S POINT OF VIEW
This is completely unfathomable! This meeting has not been agreed upon by anyone, and they are nowhere to be located. What accounts for your boss's lack of responsibility? I yelled at the young lady who was meant to be performing the duties of his secretary.
The conference room was filled with executives and investors, and I was seated at a slick black table in the middle of the room. The documents were piled in an orderly fashion in front of us, and there was a white screen that stood at the front of the room. A large number of seats were occupied, with the exception of the most important seat, which was located at the head of the table.
Even after more than thirty minutes of waiting, he was still nowhere to be seen. We had been waiting for him. Worse, he was not picking up his phone when it rang.
Is that this kind of man that expects his investors to wait in such a manner?
However, the individual who had called this meeting did not show up, despite the fact that his secretary had come early. My capacity for patience was running low. I had put in an excessive amount of effort for this project to be handled in such a manner. After sitting for such a long time, my back started to hurt, and I got the want to get up and leave.
My heartfelt apologies, Ms. Senel. "He asked us to remind him an hour before, but now he is not answering any calls," the woman with the red hair apologized, appearing to be in a state of discomfort.
Without giving it a second thought, I would have left this conference hall without giving it a second consideration if this project had not been my dream project. On the other hand, I had invested my entire being in this endeavor, and I was not going to allow some conceited billionaire to ruin my chances.
"All right, Alex. It's possible that he become involved in something significant. My buddy Clara, who is also an investor, gave me the assurance that he would arrive in a short amount of time.
I let out a quick exhalation, and from a place of frustration, I tapped my foot against the floor. In general, I am not this eager, but this project was really important to me during this time. Ever since I began my professional life as an architectural engineer, I had often fantasized about constructing something like this. Despite the fact that I was now at the final stage, I had the impression that luck was not on my side.
While I was trying to divert my attention, I took a drink of the coffee that had been placed in front of me. A final evaluation of my presentation was performed, during which I made certain that every aspect was flawless.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we regret to inform you that the meeting has been canceled." In the middle of the room, there was a voice that could be heard.
It was the same secretary with the fiery red hair, and she appeared to be incomprehensibly embarrassed.
A rush of astonishment swept through me as a result of her comments. As I turned my attention to her, I was attempting to make sense of what she had just said. I had spent an entire week trying to persuade the board to be present today, and now, as a result of the actions of a single irresponsible individual, I was on the verge of dropping everything.
Dear Elif, what the hell are you trying to say? We were kept waiting for more than forty minutes by your boss, and now he wants to cancel your appointment? That would be a complete and utter waste of our time! The woman was the target of Luke Demir's deadly glare as he growled.
Elif made a few slight bows to her head. "I deeply apologize on behalf of the company."
My rage was stifled, and I forced myself to stand up. Because I had trusted him in the first place, there was no use in fighting about it; it was my personal fault. I gathered my tablet, kept my head down, and walked out of the conference room, humiliated by the outcome of the situation.
In the beginning of the morning, I felt a great deal of excitement and confidence; however, at this point, all I could feel was exhaustion. When I emerged from the structure, my disposition was as gloomy as the cloudy sky that was above me.
In the direction of the parking lot, I slipped into my Sen and headed there. The passenger door opened just as I was about to start the engine, and a person with a smile on their face walked in through the opening.
Lovely, do not let yourself become disheartened. We will make it happen," Luke Demir said, offering me a reassuring smile.
I nodded, gripping the steering wheel tightly as I drove to my office. The rest of my day was buried in paperwork. By the time the clock struck seven, I found myself headed to Clara’s house to celebrate a huge milestone in her life.
"Oh, Alex! I am going to miss you so much!" Clara wailed, clutching me firmly as I told her I would be traveling to visit my parents.
"Come on, woman. I am only leaving for a week or two. While I was moving away from her embrace, I taunted her, saying, "You are being dramatic."
When Clara stated this, she was rubbing her stomach and smiling dreamily. "That is the perk of being pregnant," she remarked.
"May I offer my congratulations! I am going to be an aunt. Either Kerem or Little Clara is going to drive me absolutely insane!
I beg your pardon! You did not do any of the hard work! Kerem and I—"
"Enough!" I interrupted her before she could go into specifics about their private moments. "Spare me the embarrassment. I got it."
As she violently flushed, I smirked and then proceeded to move in the direction of the bar. I was waiting for someone to slide onto the seat next to me as I sat on a stool and ordered a drink. I was taking slow sips of the beverage.
I turned around and frowned almost instantly.
What a rogue he is to show up at this hour!
It was earlier that he had deserted me in the thick of the party, and now that I was about to go, he was here?
It is becoming late for me. The words "Drop me off at the airport" came out of my mouth as I finished my drink.
I walked out of the room after I had finished saying my goodbyes to Clara and her family. I went ahead and climbed into the passenger seat of Luke's automobile, which was already waiting for me there.
As soon as we were at the airport, I positioned my suitcase next to me and turned our attention to him. "So, Mr. Luke Demir, are you going to miss me or not?" I inquired in a humorous and theatrical manner.
Ms. Alex Senel, you are the only person I shall miss, and I am sorry for that. I could even forget about myself!" He replied with the sneer that was so characteristic of him.
It was my finger that I used to poke his chest. "If you forget yourself, how are you going to miss me, you i***t?"
We both laughed, and then I drew him into a close hug and kissed his cheek before we both laughed again. The next thing I did was collect my suitcase and proceed to check in for my trip.
I proceeded to board the plane twenty minutes later, only to subsequently come to the realization that I had made a grave error.
Due to the fact that I had failed to adequately inspect my seat, I eventually found myself seated in one of the most painful positions.
But being me, I did not allow it to take away from my vacation. With a little bit of acting, I was able to transfer seats, and I eventually settled into one that was significantly more comfortable.
I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I leaned back. It was now time for my theater abilities to pay off.
After having to part ways with one family, it was now time for me to get back together with another.
However, I had a feeling in my stomach that informed me that this trip would not go as to plan.
When I got back to my house, what waiting for me?
