Cecilia woke up with a yawn and sniffed the air.
Where is that nice smell coming from? she wondered, getting out of bed. She headed to the bathroom to wash her face before stepping out of the room and making her way to the kitchen.
She paused by the door, watching Stanley as he cooked.
"You're awake," he said without turning around.
"Wizard, how did you know I was behind you?" she asked, walking toward him.
"I just felt a presence," he replied.
"That smells nice," she said, taking in the aroma.
"It's our favorite," he said, glancing at her.
Her lips curled into a smile. "Really? I love it, but you should have woken me up so we could prepare it together."
"You were sleeping, and you looked so cute—I didn’t want to wake you," he said.
"Acting like a gentleman, huh?" she teased, nudging him.
"I am a gentleman," he said, making her laugh.
"Come on, go sit at the dining table. I’ll bring the food to you," he said.
"Yes, sir," she replied, walking away with different thoughts swirling in her mind.
Javier never did this for me… His girlfriend must be so lucky to have him.
"Enjoy," Stanley said, placing the food in front of her.
"Thanks," she smiled.
FZ Company**
"How was your first night with her?" Kenneth asked.
"It was nice," Stanley replied.
"And your morning?"
"Great, to be honest. I had a lot of fun with her—she’s such a cool person," Stanley admitted.
"You like her, don’t you?" Kenneth smirked.
"Of course, I like her. Who wouldn’t like a cool person? And why all these questions?" Stanley asked.
"You were smiling when you came in this morning," Kenneth pointed out.
"I always smile," Stanley countered.
"Yeah, but this time it seemed real," Kenneth said.
"My smiles are always real, and today is no different," Stanley said.
Before Kenneth could respond, Athena walked in.
"Baby boo," she called sweetly.
"My sweetheart," Stanley grinned as she pecked his cheek.
"I’ll leave you two," Kenneth said.
"Yes, you should—you’re not needed," Athena smirked, making Kenneth shake his head as he walked out.
"I hope that girl didn’t touch my baby," Athena pouted.
"Don't be jealous, girlfriend," Stanley chuckled.
"Let’s go out," she said, wrapping her arms around him.
"I was just about to say that," he smiled, leaning in to kiss her chest.
"Pervert," she giggled.
"I’ll be a pervert for you," he teased.
Javier's Apartment
"I missed you," Javier said, looking at Cecilia.
"Me too," she smiled.
"Your apartment is nice," she said, glancing around.
"I love you, Cecilia," Javier said.
"I love you too," she replied, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. His hands slid down to her ass, giving it a quick squeeze. She immediately pulled away.
"Javier, not now," she said firmly.
"When, Cecilia? We've been dating for three years, and you still won't let me kiss you. Don't you love me?" Javier asked, frustration lacing his voice.
"Javier, you know how much I love you," Cecilia said.
"Then why won’t you let me kiss you? That’s what people who love each other do," he pressed.
"Because kissing you will lead to something I’m not ready for. That’s why I always avoid it," she explained.
"I promise it won’t happen, Cecilia. You’re torturing me, and I hate it," he said, his jaw tightening.
"Javier, I love you. Remember that," she said softly.
"Just go, Cecilia," he muttered.
"Javier…" she whispered, searching his face.
"Go, Cecilia. I’ll call you," he said, turning away.
She hesitated before pecking his cheek and walking out.
The moment the door closed, a woman emerged from the inner room—completely naked.
"That was a close one," she smirked.
"Too close. But I’m glad she’s gone," Javier said, exhaling.
"How do you even deal with her? She won’t even let you kiss her," the woman scoffed.
"I have to. I need something from her, and I will get it. After that, she’ll be mine—with or without her permission," Javier said darkly.
"Enough about her," the woman purred, running her hands down his chest. "This b***h wants you."
Javier smirked and pulled her closer.
Outside the Grocery Store
Kenneth stepped out of the grocery store and sighed when his eyes landed on Reagan.
"It’s the feisty girl," he muttered, walking toward her.
"Hello," he greeted.
She turned to face him, her expression unreadable. "Who are you?" she asked, clearly uninterested in conversation.
"I’m Kenneth, a friend of Cecilia," he said.
"You? A friend of Cecilia?" she scoffed. "I don’t remember Cecilia having any male friends in Greece."
"We’re not really close," he admitted.
"Then you’re not her friend. Bye," she said bluntly and walked away.
Kenneth sighed, watching her disappear into the crowd.
---
Cecilia kept glancing at her phone, waiting for Javier’s call. She was so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice Stanley sitting beside her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, making her flinch.
"Oh, Stanley! You scared me," she said, pressing a hand to her chest.
"You look bothered," he observed.
"Waiting for his call," she muttered.
"Your boyfriend?" Stanley asked.
She nodded.
"Do you think I’m a bad girlfriend?" she asked suddenly.
"Why would you say that?" Stanley frowned.
"I never let him kiss me… We’ve been dating for three years," she admitted.
"You two never kissed?" Stanley asked, surprised. "Why?"
"Because I’m afraid of where a kiss might lead. I’m not ready for that part," Cecilia said quietly.
"You should kiss once in a while," Stanley said with a small smile, his mind drifting to Athena. "It’s part of being in a relationship with someone you love."
"You must be happy with Athena," Cecilia said.
"Yeah, very happy and in love," Stanley said, grinning.
She chuckled.
"Come on, cheer up. He’ll call you—or you could call him first," Stanley suggested.
"I’m sorry for bothering you with my problems. I didn’t even ask about your day," Cecilia said.
"It’s nothing. My day was well spent," Stanley replied, standing up.
"With Athena?" Cecilia teased.
"You already know," he said with a wink before walking away.
Cecilia sighed, looking down at her phone.
I should call Javier.
She took a deep breath and dialed his number.
