Mrs. Chavez sat in the living room, eagerly awaiting her daughter’s return.
"Rita, is everything ready for my daughter's homecoming?" she asked.
Rita, the family's maid, gave a small nod. "Yes, ma’am."
Mrs. Chavez checked the time on her phone. "She’ll be here in a few minutes."
Ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-ding.
The doorbell rang.
"Go see who it is," Mrs. Chavez instructed.
Rita walked to the door and opened it to find two women and a man standing outside.
"Hello, who are you looking for?" she asked politely.
"Hello, I’m Cecilia Chavez," the young woman in the center replied.
Rita's eyes widened in surprise. "Miss Cecilia! I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you at first—you’ve grown so much!" she said, breaking into a wide smile. Rita had been the family's maid since before Cecilia left for Poland.
"It’s okay," Cecilia said with a small chuckle. "It’s been a long time."
"Come in, Miss," Rita said, stepping aside. She gave a slight bow to the two people accompanying Cecilia.
"My baby!" Mrs. Chavez sobbed as she pulled Cecilia into a warm embrace.
Cecilia broke the hug and wiped her mother’s tears. "Don’t cry, Mother."
"I’m just so happy to see you," Mrs. Chavez said, looking her daughter over. "My baby is all grown up."
"Hello," Reagan spoke up, drawing Mrs. Chavez’s attention. That’s when she realized Cecilia hadn’t come alone.
"And who are they?" Mrs. Chavez asked.
"They’re—" Cecilia began, but Reagan cut in smoothly.
"I’m her best friend and sister. Nice to finally meet you in person, Mom," Reagan said with a grin.
Mrs. Chavez narrowed her eyes slightly. "Are you Reagan?"
"The one and only," Reagan replied confidently.
"And who is he?" Mrs. Chavez asked, her gaze shifting to Javier.
Cecilia hesitated. "Mom, I’d like Dad to be here when I introduce Javier to you. For now, we just need some rest."
Mrs. Chavez pursed her lips but nodded. "Alright, if you say so. Rita will show you and Reagan to your rooms, and Javier can take the guest room."
"Thank you, ma’am," Javier said with a slight bow.
"Thank you, Mom, for the warm welcome," Reagan added as she followed Rita.
"Come on, Javier. Let’s go," Cecilia said, gesturing for him to follow.
Mrs. Chavez watched them go, her expression unreadable. "I hope it’s not what I’m thinking. That Javier guy better not be her boyfriend".

"Harder, Stanley. Harder," Athena's voice filled the room as Stanley thrust deeply into her.
His phone started ringing, but he ignored it.
"Gosh, Stanley," Athena moaned, her pleasure evident.
"You’re f*****g sweet," he groaned, savoring the moment.
The ringing persisted, getting on his nerves.
"Is this caller ever going to stop?" he muttered.
"Ignore it," Athena urged, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
"Let me just check. It might be important," he said, reluctantly slowing down.
"I hope it’s not Kenneth," she scoffed.
"It’s my dad," he replied before answering the call.
"Where the hell have you been? Why aren’t you picking up?" Mr. Fernandez’s angry voice boomed through the phone.
"I'm busy, Dad. What do you want?" Stanley asked, irritated.
"Get to the house right now," his father ordered.
"But Dad, I’m in the middle of something—"
"I said now."
Stanley clenched his jaw. "Fine. I’ll be there." He ended the call with a sigh.
"You’re leaving?" Athena asked, annoyance clear in her tone.
"Yeah," he replied, already getting up.
"Will there ever be a day when I can enjoy you to the fullest?" she muttered, frustrated.
"I’ll call you when I’m free," he said, pressing a quick kiss to her lips before walking out.

"Your what?" Mr. Chavez asked, his brows furrowing after Cecilia introduced Javier as her boyfriend.
"He's the love of my life," Cecilia replied without hesitation.
"Sir, I love your daughter very much," Javier added sincerely.
Mr. Chavez's expression remained unreadable. "Cecilia, I need to talk to you."
"Dad, whatever you have to say, say it in front of Javier and Reagan. They're like family."
There was a brief silence before Mr. Chavez finally spoke. "You're getting married."
Cecilia smiled. "I know, Dad."
"Not to Javier."
Her smile vanished instantly. "What do you mean?"
*****
"Yes, son, you're getting married—to my business partner’s daughter," Mr. Fernandez announced.
Stanley’s jaw tightened. "You can't be serious, Dad."
"I'm very serious."
"Dad, you know I have a girlfriend.
"A woman I've never liked. You will break up with her and marry the one I’ve chosen for you."
Stanley clenched his fists. "No, Dad. I can’t—and I will never leave Athena for someone I don’t know or love."
Mr. Fernandez’s tone turned cold. "My decision is final."

"Dad, I can't marry some guy I don't even know," Cecilia scoffed.
"That's exactly why I told you to return to Greece," Mr. Chavez said.
"I thought this was about the company?" Cecilia questioned.
"Yes, Cecilia, this is for the company," Mr. Chavez confirmed.
"Dad, I just introduced my boyfriend to you, and we're getting married," Cecilia stated firmly.
"Sir, I want to marry your daughter," Javier added.
"Shut it, young man. I'm talking to my daughter, not you," Mr. Chavez snapped.
"Dad," Cecilia called, frustrated.
"Ceci, I think your dad just wants what's best for you," Reagan chimed in, earning sharp glares from both Cecilia and Javier.
"Talk to your friend, Reagan," Mr. Chavez said before walking away.
"Reagan, are you seriously taking my dad's side?" Cecilia asked, incredulous.
"You and Javier both know I don’t like him one bit. I just want what’s best for you," Reagan said, eyeing Javier with disdain.
"And I don’t like you either," Javier shot back. "But no matter what you do, Cecilia and I will never be separated. We’re meant to be."
"If that’s what you believe," Reagan said indifferently before walking away.
"You need to talk to your dad," Javier urged.
"I will. I'll make him understand that we love each other," Cecilia reassured him.
"Yeah, talk to him," Javier murmured, his gaze darkening. "Because I won’t let you marry anyone else. My plans can't be ruined."
