Chapter 24 You can't escape

The sun slowly rises over the mountainside with the warm glimmer bathing the town and over the woods. Within Alec perched on top of a large rock that sat at the edge of a small stream with the gentle glimmer of sunlight reflecting off of the water and his fur. Sighing he looks at his palms, his nose scrunching at the iron stench clinging to his paw pads. He gives a soft sigh as his shifting appendages, the claws retracted along with his fur while his hands shrink and his paws vanish in his palms. He brings it up and runs his fingers through his hair. "I never asked to this life... I just want a place where I belong." He picks up a pebble and tosses it into the water, watching as ripples blend in with the currents of the stream while he slips deep into his thoughts as he thinks back.
