She walked out of the ward with hurried steps, but as she left the building, she slowed down.
The paper in her hand wrinkled due to the force she was putting on it.
Taking a few more steps, she stopped and kept her back against the hallway wall.
Sophia breathed in several times but she still couldn't stop the tears from pouring down her eyes. She looked at the documents in her hand and read through them again.
"Sophia Blackwood initiated the divorce, the reason is that Mr blackwood cheated on her "
This was the best she could do; she swore to make him pay for everything he had done to her.
And then more tears flowed down; just when she was about to break down, she heard footsteps coming her way, and she hurriedly stood upright and wiped her eyes.
She didn't want anyone to see her in a bad state, so she adjusted her dress and started walking away.
She hurried back to the car and entered; she sighed with her back relaxed on the chair.
Kevin looked at her and asked,
" Is it done?"
She nodded with a slight smile and he asked her.
" How long has it been since you went out for entertainment?"
Entertainment? If she could remember correctly, during those three years, she was like a slave with endless chores every day Because she tried hard to win the hearts of the Blackwood family.
But it was like their heart was made up of stone; they hurt her badly.
She replied sarcastically, " I didn't have time for an outing, I was only focused on the Blackwood family who didn't appreciate my efforts"
Kevin sighs softly and mutters
" Marco will regret losing you! C'mon, my queen, it's time to show other men how you shine!"
Sophia was no longer interested in what Marco thought, henceforth she would live only for herself!
She turned and glanced at Kevin.
"Where are we going ?"
" Ray Hotel, let's go party! You need to relax before becoming the true queen; you need to show the world that Marco means nothing to you, but most importantly, there's someone you would love to see." Kevin winked, and this made Sophia laugh.
Who's the person? She had been busy taking care of Marco's family for the past three years; she didn't think she knew anyone, but she was sure Kevin wouldn't let her meet someone without any reason.
" Let go, you're right I need to relax "
Kevin turned on the engine and drove away.
A few minutes later, they walked into the hotel, walking straight to the VIP section, and there, a young man sat on the couch with a glass of wine in his hand.
A full bottle of wine, and there were different types of meals on the table in front of him.
He was browsing his phone; he was dressed up in a black suit when he heard footsteps; he looked up, and upon seeing Sophia, a broad smile appeared on his face; he stood and opened his arm.
Sophia rushed and hurriedly hugged him, and both fell heavily on the couch. Sophia laughed and placed her hands on his chest, slightly supporting herself to get up; she sat up and slapped his thigh, calling his name.
" Ethan White! Oh my God! Where the hell have you been?"
Ethan was her best friend in high school. They've been friends since they were kids, but while growing up, Ethan and his family relocated to European countries, and since then, they've not been able to get in touch.
She was surprised and happy to see him again.
Ethan was even more handsome; she jumped on his arm once more without noticing his Redding cheeks.
All this while Ethan was still lying on the couch with his eyes blinking and a blush on his cheeks.
Ethan was happy that Sophia was divorced; no one knew that he had always had a crush on her. He was scared to tell her, thinking it might end their friendship, but now, he had vowed to protect her and also revealed his feelings for her.
Ethan was about to speak when Kevin interrupted.
" I told you that you would be amazed but it seems you are surprised and happy as well"
This made Sophia chuckle; she glanced at Ethan and asked.
" What do you do now ?"
Ethan smiled and Kevin replied to her question.
" He's a persecutor, he is famous, his nickname is ' NO MERCY '
Sophia looked at Ethan unbelievably, and he nodded his head and said to her.
" All thanks to you, you've always wanted me to become a persecutor, remember?"
Sophia sighed with a painful smile and whispered.
" My chipmunk, I am proud of you "
" Mikypie, I am ready to help you in any way possible for you to stand on your feet "
Sophia clenched her fist, not wanting to disappoint these people who had been supporting her.
" Why not? I have lost love, but I still have you guys," she said firmly.
She finished once again and glanced at Kevin gratefully; although she had not been with him all these years, he had been the one paving the way for her.
He kept telling her that she was smart, with a master's degree from a top university, and she shouldn't just do a maid thing.
She used to love Marco too much and trusted their family to help her investigate The truth about her father's death and the reason she mainly agreed to marry Marco was that his family promised to help her investigate her father's death.
Her father died when she was twenty-one, but she believes that it was a murder; it wasn't just a mere incident.
Her father, Lt. Mr. Baldwin, was a top persecutor who always shed light in the dark; he owned a company but was murdered while investing in the T. Y technology group, which is Freya's Dad's company.
Sophia believes that the T.Y technology group was related to the death of her father.
Next, she will use all her resources to investigate the truth of her father's death and take back her father's company.
" Cheers, let's toast to Sophia, who finally gets rid of her misery!"
Kevin suggested, and Sophia did not hesitate, ready to pick up a glass of wine, but Ethan grabbed the glass from her hand and quickly replaced it with a glass of juice.
Kevin looked at him strangely, wondering why he did that, and when Ethan realized that he was too abrupt, his face immediately turned red, and he hurriedly explained.
" Milkypie, it has been a long since you drank, and the alcohol concentration here is too high; I'm worried you will get drunk in a while; we have to talk about you accepting the company, don't we ?"
Sophia smiled, staring at Ethan's handsome face covered with red; she thought he was too cute; and she couldn't help but move to touch his face, but before she could reach him, a terrifying voice rang in the air.
" Sophia! What do you think you're doing?"
They looked up upon hearing the familiar voice, and it turned out to be Marco, and by his side, there was Freya.
Sophia frowned a bit when she heard Marco's voice.
She shouldn't be shocked to see them together, yet their appearance dampened her mood.
" So he is your new lover? Or may I say they? , It's not even up to a day, you're messing around already ?"
" I can say the same for you Mr blackwood, unlike you, I didn't cheat while we were married "
" I didn't cheat! And who would believe what you just said !" Marco stared from her to Ethan and from him to Kevin, he gritted his teeth in anger.
Marco didn't like the way she addressed him by his surname. Where did her confidence come from?
" Whether you believe her or not, nobody cares. " Ethan's blood was boiling the moment he sighted Marco and he called lover.
" You've no right to question whoever she hangs out with, if I were you, I'd stay out of her way, you bastard!" Kevin gritted.
Ethan grabbed Sophia's waist, catching her off guard, and she shot him a questioning look, and he responded with a flirting wink.
When Marco saw this, he clenched his fist, growing more furious.
Freya, who noticed the tension, became concerned.
What was it about Sophia interacting with another Man that made Marco so visibly jealous?
" You have gone too far Sophia, even if Marco no longer wants you, you shouldn't stoop this low "
This made Sophia furious, and she pointed her index finger in her direction and said.
" Freya or whatever you're called, no one invited you into this talk " Sophia sharply replied.
" Milkypie, let's leave this place," Ethan said, and Marco gritted his teeth upon hearing Ethan calling Sophia a sweet name.
When he saw a smile lingering on Sophia's face, he immediately said.
" Sophia .... I can't believe you "
Sophia was about to reply when Marco's assistant walked in showing something to Marco on his phone
" Shock! CEO of New Way Technology, Mr blackwood, was divorced by his wife; the reason was that he cheated on her with T.Y group of company daughter; he's such an asshole !"
