Detective Dickson 4 : Shadow of despair

Generals of darkness

d**k held his cup, it was filled with champagne, his wife stood beside him, she held a small tennis ball, there were several cups arranged on a table which directly in front of her, on the other end was Emily and Rudy, Rudy too held a ball.

"Now, Emi, before we go on, just don't take this loss so hard, I mean you don't stand a chance" d**k smirks as he sips from the content in the cup.

"Bring it on, old man" Emily says at him with a sly smile

"Also dad, you have had too much champagne, we have to watch your health."

Dick gives a short chuckle as he puts the cup to his lips

"Handling a little champ won't hurt..." As he takes a sip, he spits out, there was a disgusted look on his face

"Bllllarggggghhhh, what is this "

"Aromo bitters, I changed the contents in your cup to a local herbal drink in the African continent, it's really beneficial for the health" Emily smiles at her Dad.

"Yeah and extremely bitter, how does anyone take this s**t" d**k says with a terrified look.

"Language!!" Sarah and Rudy shout at the same time, the family of four burst into laughter almost immediately.

"So Emi, who's going with you to the prom" Sarah asks turning towards Emily's direction.

"I am not going" Emily says blatantly.

"So no one's gonna smash my daughter, yeeeeessssss, thank God" d**k thinks happily as he empties the content in his cup on the ground.

"Darling" Sarah says turning towards her husband's direction

"Don't you have something to say regarding this."

"Yes, doll, your mother is right, why don't you wanna go" d**k asks after quickly recovering his composure but he was glad internally

"Weren't you dating that guy, what's his name, is it Tofu or Topo."

"Honey, it's Toby and I know you know that name, you were always giving the poor kid a tough time" Sarah says with a demeaning gaze at d**k.

"No, that's false, I never give anyone a tough time, everyone knows I am the ultimate comforter" d**k says in a high tone, the way his voice just suddenly rose showed he was lying.

Rudy and Sarah both shoot disagreeable glances towards his direction.

"Dad, it's not even just that" Emily says with a sober expression.

"What's wrong, sweetie" Sarah asks in her direction.

"An incident happened last week, I just didn't want to tell you about it" Emily begins.

"Whooooo, you got smashed" Rudy shouts excitedly.

"Language, darling, where did you hear that from" Sarah says with an alarmed look.

"It was Dad who told me, he was trying t..." Rudy began but d**k teleported to his back, covering his son's mouth with his right arm.

"Darling, this isn't about this, it's about our daughter, she isn't happy, let's put the attention on her" d**k says with an unbalanced smile.

"Why do I have a feeling you are hiding something" Sarah says with a suspicious look at d**k before turning her gaze back on her daughter

"But you are right, my sweet little angel needs me now, so Emily what was the incident."

Emily chuckles lightly as he brushes her right arm with her left

"It all happened last week, after Toby and I just went to see that romantic movie last night, it was beautiful, we were walking under the street light and we were the only two, we talked about the movie and so much, then when we got to his place, we started making out, his dad just came in, I think he was drunk and he held a broken bottle, he tried to attack us and just then my ability activated and he...he...he.." Emily bursts into tears as she reached that part.

Dick knew about all of his daughter's abilities, the one which activated was 'Bloodlust brings death'. Anyone with a murder intent around five kilometres of Emily was instantly vaporised to nothingness, it was a frightening ability.

Dick walked over to his daughter, she sucked it in as she embraced him, he really hadn't spent much time with her, he was so focused with getting stronger though in a few conversations with her, he had noticed something was off. Emily cried lightly but d**k hugged back.

"It's okay, Daddy's here" d**k whispers at her

"I don't understand, why were there no presses charged" Sarah asks.

"Toby must be a smart kid, his Dad vaporising to nothingness is a paranormal case, they can't handle that" d**k says at her.

"He called me a freak, dad, said I was the worst person he ever met and I would become a killing machine" Emily says weeping.

Dick breaks away from the hug.

"He called you a murderer, I will get him for that" d**k ends as he vanishes.

He reappears shortly with a gelato ice cream filled cup in his hands, there were red stains all over his shirt.

"Oooh Dad, did you kill him" Emily says covering her face, she looked aghast, she sinks to the hands of her mother who held her tight.

"I definitely don't wanna get on the bad side of Dad" Rudy says chattering.

"Oooh no princess, I didn't kill him, I don't do that, I just went to get ice cream" d**k says as he hands it over to her

"Just had ketchup spilled on me by the attendant, it's nothing serious."

"Ooh" Emily smiles as she takes the cup from her dad's hands, she begins to take it happily

"Thanks, Dad, you are the best."

"Is there something going on between Amanda and you, I noticed you both ain't as close as before" d**k says with a serious look.

In the distance, Amanda was with her boyfriend, they had both attended his wife's birthday, after those two had entered high school, there were no longer as close as they was.

Dick knew the reason, it was so obvious, Amanda's abilities purely dealt with the mind, she could manipulate anyone to do what she wanted so becoming the most popular girl in school was soft, His daughter on the other hand had lethal powers so she tried her best to stay away from others, well, Toby was a guy who had a crush on her since fourth grade, he had this nerdy look though he didn't wear classes, having a Caucasian even skin tone with a few freckles on his face and short brown darkish hair, he wasn't bad looking, Emily was practically a freak in her school.

"Hey" Amanda says nonchalantly as she approached the family, she was holding Nicholai's right arm, it was when he came close that his tall height was recognised, he was about a head taller than d**k.

"The white b***h is here" Rudy whispers silently, Emily still had a crestfallen look, d**k noticed it, he had to find a way to get rid of her.

"Anything we can help you with?" d**k asks.

"Yeah, Nick here is so crazy about you, he wants an autograph" Amanda says in a domineering tone.

Nicolai just stood beside her, he was devilishly handsome and his body structure showed he regularly worked out. He was dressed as a typical high school jock.

"I am sorry but this here is my Queen's birthday, I can't do autographs, maybe some other time" d**k says with a mild chuckle.

"You know I have various ways of doing things, I asked politely, you don't want me to resort to other methods" Amanda says changing her facial expression, like her mother, Lefinna, she was really beautiful but she was selfish.

Dick stared back at her, though he was immune to telepathy, Amanda had an ability to rewrite the body physiology meaning she could make him vulnerable to telepathy

"Dang, this ain't gonna be good."

"Darling" Sarah says nudging d**k, d**k turns to look at her, pointing towards the only structure in sight, it was about fifty feet in height.

"What's that?" she asks.

"Ooh, the gift store, it's all the presents you were given, it wasn't enough to house all the presents, we had to store some in an intra dimension" d**k says with a mild smile.

"Listen here, old man" Amanda began

"I don't like to be ignored, is he gonna get the autograph or you would lick the floor for a while?"

Dick turns towards her, he was about to speak but something crashes right on the ground very close to them sending them sprawling backwards in the air.

Dick maintaining his balance in the air jumped as fast as he could, he caught Rudy and Sarah calmly, Emily lands softly on her feet, Amanda activates a force field landing calm on the ground, Nicolai wasn't so lucky as his body hits the ground vehemently.

Right before them stood three figures embedded in darkness, one had a female physique, one looked like an overgrown Hercules and the last one looked creepy, he had six hands.

Dick looking over at Amanda

"This guys really look just like your soul."

"We are back from the infinite beyond" The buff shadowy creature said.

"Is this supposed to be part of the surprise?" Sarah asks.

Dick perplexed looked over at all his close comrades, they too appeared shocked, either they didn't know about it or they were just pretending and were really good at it.

Dick smiling turns to them

"And what is your purpose here?"

"To free our Lord who you trapped" the strange shadowy figure retorts.

"You know this isn't a kid's birthday right" d**k says with a smirk.

"Where's the dildo?" the shadowy girl asks.

"The f**k, what dildo" d**k asks, his mouth wide opened.

"The one you used to peg our Lord, he passed the last of his memories to us before he was sealed, he expects us to find him and as his humble servants, we shall" the lady said.

This caused a strange reaction amongst the audience.

"Mom, what's a dildo and what does peg mean" Rudy asks pushing down Sarah's cloth.

Sarah didn't reply.

"Well, you have overstayed your welcome, how about I show you the way out" d**k smiles as he dashes towards the strange looking one, he makes a fist and launches it towards the creature but his hand just goes through.

"You have grown far more pathetic" it said as it knees d**k in his jewels. d**k puts his hands down.

Raising d**k up, the creature smashes him to the ground. Lefinna rushes towards the scene, her silver blade materializing in her right arm, she swings towards the female but she dodges it, a whip had now materialised in the shadow's left arm, she swings towards her but a hand stopped the whip from hitting her.

"Darling, are you okay" Tommy asks holding the whip.

"I will be once we show these uninvited guests the way out" Lefinna says as she gets up.

"You pathetic insect" the buff shadow says as it lunges towards Tommy crashing him against the ground.

Many of the crowd had already started dashing, some were preparing spells.

"This could pose a problem" the female shadow said

"It's best to deal with the insects the best way possible."

Shadows each having the exact same physique as the audience arose and started battling each of their doppelganger. It was an insane fight, looking over at Lefinna, now to deal with you.

Dick gets up from the floor, he looked around, he could see everyone battling with shadows, the creature launched itself at him, knives had appeared on each of his six arms, it started striking ferociously at d**k but d**k parried the attacks though he found it really difficult to keep up with the shadow's speed.

As fast as he could, he moved around, creating afterimage duds everywhere.

"Try and beat that" d**k says smiling at the creature.

"Child's play" the creature smiled back as shadows looking exactly like the duds appeared.

"How's you doing that?" d**k asked amazed.

"I am one of the three generals of Darkness, manipulation of the dark is basic" the creature said aloud.

"How about I add a little light" d**k asks as his body starts gleaming with bright yellow light, all the shadows in the area instantly vanish.

Dick smiles as he looks at his progress but something was wrong, not also did the shadows disappear but everyone did.

Right before him were the three generals of Darkness.

"You ain't Ixonquious, we have infiltrated your memories, you have no idea of the device" the buff shadow said.

"What's happening?" d**k thinks.

"We shall find the seal device and bring Lord Meglor back, then we shall settle this score" the weird creature said.

"For now, we shall retreat" the female shadow said as the trio disappear.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up" came a familiar voices.

"Is he alive" came another.

"He just spaced out" came one more.

"Classic ol d**k, always taking the attention" came another voice.

Dick awakes and looks up. Sarah, Irinova, Emily and his other close comrades were there.

"Did any shadow figure attack of should I say they were three?" d**k asks as he sits up on the ground.

"No, just your natural display of folly" Alucard retorts.

"Well, sorry about that, I had the strangest dream" d**k says.

"We thought Amanda was controlling you" Emily began.

"You just started acting weird all of a sudden."

"So those generals or whatever they call themselves can manipulate minds, this one seems to be in a higher league than even Amanda, oooh, I am gonna disrupting the party, gotta change that" d**k thinks as he rises to his feet and raising his voice

"The party ain't about me, let the celebration continue."

The DJ put on a groovy tune returning life to the party that seemed to had disappeared.

Dick smiles as his comrades leave seeing that he was all right.

"Just who's this Meglor?" d**k thinks.
