EVELYN'S POV It was evening, and I hadn't caught a glimpse of Caleb or my uncle. Restlessness gnawed at me, making it impossible to stay in my room any longer. I needed a distraction, anything to keep my mind from spiraling. I wandered through the house, my feet moving aimlessly across the grand halls. The layout was impressive, almost labyrinthine, with towering doors and winding corridors that gave it the feel of a castle.
