Why did mum need all this stuff? I grumbled as I walked down the spice aisle. She said something about leaves. I know I needed onion powder, steak seasoning, and garlic salt. Mum insisted on having a family dinner tonight and for the foreseeable future, well, until Zander and I headed off to college. I tried roping Zander into coming, but he faked a phone call and ran off to his room. I crossed my arms, pulling the basket closer to me. The scent of silver wafted in my direction. I froze.
