Chapter 10

Xavier's POV

I called Isaac as soon as I got off the phone with Anna and told him to get up and come with me. I might need him to help in this situation since he works as a lawyer for the hospital along with his dad. I had to find a way to keep them from her, so she can at least heal to where we aren't putting her in unnecessary risk just for the police to get their man.  Isaac met me outside with my car already pulled around and ready to go. Once I got in we took off. 

When we got to the back of the hospital I noticed Rachel, she is one of the she-wolves that works with Dr. Anna when she is here. I wonder why she is outside waiting for me and not Anna? As soon as I thought it Isaac voiced it out. "Why is she here and not Anna?" he looked over at me while parking the car. "I don't know, but we will find out." I said to him while getting out of the car. Though I felt like something bad was happening. I shook the thought off as I needed to know what was happening with my mate. Rom was constantly pacing back and forth with a low whine. I have tried to ask him what was wrong, but all he keeps saying is MATE. Who would've thought that finally meeting my mate would also lead to a whirlwind of other crap to get through. 'Hurry UP, we need to go to MATE!!' Rom yelled out in my mind making me wince from how loud he was being. 'Just give us a minute to find out what is going on. I PROMISE we will go to mate as soon as Rachel fills us in.' Rom huffed at my answer but non the less let me be.

"Alpha Xavier, Beta Isaac." Rachel greeted us and bow slightly, but looking at her closer now she was worried and a little scared. "Rachel what is going on?" I looked at her as her eyes glazed over in a mind-link with Anna most likely telling her I was here. She finished and looked back at both of us, now with more worry etched on her face. "No time to explain Alpha, Dr. Anna says we need to get up to her floor NOW!" She wiped around unlocked the back door with her key card, holding it open for both of us and took off with Isaac and I trailing behind her.

While we were running Rachel let us know that the police are still hear in the waiting room, and that I wouldn't be able to get as close to the Luna as I would like because of them. I was more pissed that something bad is happening and I can't be with her, but I understand as well that it wouldn't look good random people coming into see her. "Beta Isaac the room coming up on the left is where you will be leaving us. The passcode is 478423, there is already a suit in there waiting for you. I don't know if you will need this but I wanted to make sure you looked that part if need be." She never turned around, she simply pointed to the room and told me to keep following her. Isaac nodded towards me and went to the room to change and meet us at our mates room. I kept following Rachel as she weaved her way through the halls. Stopping at the waiting room asking me to stay here while she checks to see if the person I am here for is stable enough for a visitor.

I am now standing in the waiting room looking at the police officers who have been harassing the staff to get answers from my mate. Rom was still going crazy clawing at my mind to get out and go to our Mate. 'Rom calm down, if you keep this up I won't be able to keep you at bay and we really don’t need these people seeing us wolf out.' I was rubbing between my eyes trying to get him to calm down.  Soon Anna came to the room making me and the police officers jump up from our seats. "Mr. Xavier, if you would follow me please." Anna smiled toward me, but before I could walk to her one of those officers jumped in between us. "Excuse me Dr. but where are you taking him exactly." the whole time he spoke he was looking me up and down. Examining me like I was one of their suspects. Rom was growling at him and clawing at my mind to rip his head off. 'I feel the same way Rom' I wanted nothing more to put this arrogant man back in his place. "Officers, Waverly isn't the only person on this floor. There are other patients here as well who would probably like to see their family. We have had no visitors since we reported that Waverly was here and that was a week ago. Now if you don't mind Mr. Xavier would like to see his sister who just woke up this morning and will sent down to the lower level to finish her recovery. Mr. Xavier, if you would please follow me." Anna was remarkable, the officers huffed a little but sat back down to wait again as I followed Anna a door down from Waverly's. She opened it up and motioned for me to go in. 

"Alpha, something is wrong with the Luna. Her heart rate is continuously spiking and I haven't told this to anyone but Rachel. It seems the Luna is healing rapidly, like her gunshot wounds are fully healed without a scar, that happened just before you got here, when Rachel was checking up on her before she went to meet you. I had her redress the wounds as if they were still there so no one suspected anything. I also had Rachel go and get Isaac and lead him to a conference room that the officers are being directed to now. To have a talk with him regarding their audacious request for her to be woken up." She paused so I could absorb the information. I just stood there staring at her like she was crazy. "What do you mean they healed and without a scar?" I am sure my eyes were still wide from hearing her before. 'Mate is so much more than we thought. MUST keep her safe, she is special!' Rom said proudly, followed by another whimper. "I am not sure Alpha, all I can tell you is that they are gone as if they never existed. It happened after the cop was talking with me in her room. I have told them before not to go in, but he didn’t listen. Soon after the cop told me about getting a court order to have her woken up, her heart rate went through the roof and to be honest I thought she was crashing. I called code blue, but just as they were coming into the room it stopped. Her breathing and heart rate went back to normal and then just before you got here Rachel had checked up on her and those wounds were gone. I have a feeling that I know what is happening but I will have to talk to one of the Elders more specifically my mother. Either way the cops cannot find out about this, they will know something un-human is going on here." the look on Anna's face made me realize we have to come up with a plan tonight to get her back to pack hospital and away from the human world.

'Don't you dare do that Xav. MATE needs us, our Waverly is still here. Please don't say it out loud.' Rom whimpered, he had already heard my thoughts but this is the only way. 'I am sorry Rom but it’s the only way and Anna will be there the whole time, she won't let anything happen to her.' I tried to reassure him as best I could, but even I know he probably won't speak to me until she wakes up now. I sighed and looked back to Anna, "Is there any way we could let her code long enough to convince the cops she died? I mean I don’t want to hurt her or accidentally kill her by doing this but this is all I can come up with. Rom is in pain and so am I being away from her this long is too much. Also we can't let them find out she healed like that or them trying to wake her up when we know that will definitely harm her more." She nodded,  "I actually think that will work. I can have her heart monitor clipped onto her left hand to be removed, I can have Rachel stand on that side to replace it once we are done with fooling the cops. We will have to move her to the morgue which is near the back of the hospital and have her loaded into one of the spare emergency vehicles that transport to other hospitals. The cops will most likely try to come into the room once they hear the code blue. I will mind-link all who will be involved and have you meet us at the back near the morgue." She had a good plan and it meant she wouldn’t actually be coding just looking like she is. "What if the cops come for her body for autopsy?" I am sure they will try that too. "She is now considered an orphan and no one in her family has come to see or claim her. So we will go with the policy that she will be cremated, a day after coming to the morgue. The cops will just have to be pissed that we didn’t hold the body longer, but we have all right to use this policy as she will be taking up room in the morgue for people who can be identified and have their loved ones claim them. If you are ok with this plan, stay here for thirty minutes and then head back to the back and in an hour she will be brought out to you." I nodded even to her that I accept and she turned and to leave the room. When she opened the door all you could hear was yelling between my Beta and the cops. He must've pissed them off pretty good. I told her to leave the door cracked so that I could hear the commotion.

"I am sorry officers but that is the policy and we will not endanger any of our patients just because you are too impatient to allow her to heal to the point she can wake up and answer your questions. Also due to the injury documented here in her file, she might not even remember who she is or what happened. She has been in this coma since she was found two weeks ago, and at this rate I highly doubt she will wake up at all, even if you force it." Isaac was calm and collected as usual, but the cop was not too thrilled. "I understand the risks but there are people out there that need to held accountable for their actions not only against Waverly and her family but also her friends who were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. We need anything even if it is something small, anything can help." The cop was desperate and it was pissing me off that not only the Doctor but the hospital lawyer telling them No they can't do this, and they are still trying. "Sir with all due respect to the force, but isn't it also your job to insure that the victim, in this case Waverly doesn’t suffer more unnecessary procedures that could end up causing more damage to her brain or even kill her. If you were to proceed with this and Waverly doesn’t wake up but ends up dying wouldn't you then be responsible for her death? I feel like that would hinder this case instead of helping it." Isaac had a smug look on his face I could see it from the doorway. The officers looked back and forth to each other, before accepting defeat and letting Isaac know he is right and they will wait for her to wake up on her on. Only that wouldn't be happening.

My thirty minutes are up and I headed out of the room and heading back to the back of the hospital. Soon Isaac was walking next to me looking over at me. "You handled that well." I said to him. "How can you be calm, can't you hear the code blue calling out over the system?" I noticed he had stopped walking and was turning to go back. "Isaac it is part of the plan I will fill you in but we need to get into place so this will work." He looked at me not liking that his Luna was in possible danger and I was allowing it to happen. So I mind-linked him the conversation with Anna before this got out of hand and we screw this up. Isaac looked at me like I was crazy, 'See even he doesn’t like this plan.' Rom hissed at me. 'She will be fine she isn't really coding they are faking it.' I hissed back at him. "Ok let's go you said she will be brought down in a hour, we need to get the emergency vehicle in place and ready for transport." I nodded to him and we took off to get everything ready to take our Mate home.
