THE PRINCE'S SURROGATE

I wasn't expecting to meet him here of all places and even when I told him about my meeting I thought it was just a coincidence.

"Hi," I said sounding embarrassed

"Hi Emily, "I said pleased.

"Who would have thought " I laughed my words full of sarcasm

Maybe I heard it wrongly, we needed to sign the contract and finally meet in person, but I didn't know this would end up as my reality of me being the father.

" Is this what you said you're working on that will make your mom grounded? " I asked wanting to know.

"Yes, I would love for it to be kept a secret for a while that is why we are signing a document . I wanted to know, who is carrying my child but I'm pleased that it's you".

"Oh " I didn't know if I should be pleased

"So why are you doing this, because of your father's health. Do you have an idea of what you'll be going through and the process of getting pregnant" he bluntly said

"I know the process of getting pregnant and have done some research about it. And the first process is the hardest " he told me.

"Do you know, they'll be sticking needles into you not just once? " I said.

I didn't know if he was concerned or just wanted me to opt-out

"I will deal with it when I have to, "I said

"You are going to need my egg which means the child will biologically be a part of me and have my blood "

"So," I asked

"It matters to me "

"It shouldn't be that's why you'll be signing a contract." I said as a matter of fact ." I'll be paying you double since you're doing this for money," I said

I didn't like the way he said it, he was painting me as a bad person and a gold digger which I wasn't.

"I'm doing this not because I have a choice, but for my family". Making it clear to him ." I have to pay for my surgery and hospital bills, my mom pretends like everything is fine but deep inside I know she acting strong in front of us but tired. All I want is to have my family and life back again" I said even if I sound desperate to him.

"I'll love for you to be my surrogate. I want a woman who'll carry my child to be decent and you fit that category, so we both need each other's help "

He was giving me a mouth-watering deal that couldn't reject. I need to get the money soon. My family needs it this is my chance to be of help.

"I'll think about it, "I told him

"I gave you 48 hours to think about the previous so you can tell me your decision afterward.". he said.

"How soon can you move in," I asked impatiently.

"I can't move in soon," I said. He wasn't giving me the time to think

"The ball will be starting soon in a few week time and you need to be prepared, " I said softly

I thought abo all and about having to tell my mom about some of it but not entirely the truth at least so she could know.

"This week maybe " I suggested.

"I'll send a car to get you tomorrow and pack for a long stay, we don't have much time on our side, "I said in a commanding tone.

"Tomorrow is too soon," I said in dismay

"We have a lot of things to accomplish "

"Accomplish, do I look that unpresentable to you

".

"When I put my mind to something or anything at that I make it work," I said ignoring her words like they meant nothing. How can I forget the all-mighty Rodriguez? I don't understand the idea of him sending a car to come to get me, I needed time to think about all this happening so fast.

Reminiscing

I had found out about the infatuation I had for him when we were little and he had been too harsh with his words. He had seen me as an unattractive 13-year-old which he and his cousin talked about I had been flat as a board I could still remember when the boys had appeared near the greenhouse and I overheard his words which still pierce me deeply.

I had been too shocked, I didn't can hide my emotion but I could perfectly because she didn't know what he was thinking. I regretted my words right when they came out and found out that she was there all along my gaze gave me away but I never said or apologized for it.

I didn't care about the ball I just wanted my father to be fine I reminded myself. If he was willing to help her she doesn't mind doing whatever she could pay and getting a higher pay was all the money she needed.

"Okay, give me a call when you've made your decision ". I said reaching for his card in his back pocket.

I nodded slowly "I Will" . his fingertip touched mine slowly.

We stood close to the door staring at each other

and since I signed the document, I turned and reached for the doorknob.

"Don't forget 48 hours is the deadline " I said.

"I know and I'll give you a call," I said almost rolling my eyes.

"I'm a very impatient person "he warns.

I smiled knowing he had never been patient, the almighty Rodriguez.
