Elliot's Mask Off

994 Words
"Are you sick?" Elliot approached me who was well dressed. After torturing me under the splash of water, Patricia dressed me in her best clothes. She even combed my hair and styled it well. She doesn't want me to look like someone who has just been tortured. But my face can't lie. Which crazy person will look fine after being washed underwater for a long time until she can barely breathe? "Patricia—" "Madam took a shower for too long. She seems to be enjoying my gentle massage on his head.” Before I could answer, Patricia had already preceded with a full explanation of her lies. Elliot smiled. "Look, if there's no Patricia, you will be in trouble, Naomi." I clenched my fist over my thigh. I want to water those two people with the hot soup on the table. "Honey, there's something I want to talk about." I looked at Elliot. I couldn't see that man with the same look again after seeing his affair with Patricia last night. It still feels extremely sore, as if a big rock hit my heart so hard that it broke and left only meaningless debris. "Yes. Say it." Elliot handed the kiwi juice in front of me before starting the conversation. "I've told you about my position in the office, right?" Elliot started. I think I know the direction of the conversation. "I heard more and more people's gossip. I even feel that my voice is not heard at all by the shareholders." "Yes. So, what do you want?" "I need your share ownership transferred in my name so that people no longer belittle me as a husband who only lives with his wife." I'm squinting. This is too fast. I think he will play with me longer. Or stupidly, I still think he won't be as bad as I thought. "Does it have to be?" I looked at him doubtfully. Elliot nodded. The man reached for something from his black bag; a file. "I have prepared the file." Impatient. “Can you sign it? There is a project that I have to finish. However, most of Gritta's shareholders did not agree with the idea I conveyed. They even looked at me with a look. To realize my best idea, I need stronger power to silence them." Reflecting for a moment, I saw Elliot and the file alternate. Finally, I put my signature on the file containing the transfer of share ownership in Gritta in the name of Elliot Adams. Elliot's bright smile was instantly imprinted, even with a smile on Patricia's face. “I want us to get married next month.” Suddenly, Patricia said. Elliot took the file in front of me quickly and secured it. "Of course. We will have an amazing party," replied Elliot. I was stunned. "What the hell is this?!" Patricia laughed. "You stupid woman. What else? Elliot and I are getting married.” "I'm still his wife. How can he get married again?" "Of course, I can. Who said I can't?" "Elliot!" "Wake up, Naomi!" Patricia's said. The woman put on a sly smile. Approach each other with Elliot then join hands with him. "How long do you think Elliot will survive with a disabled woman like you, huh? You are just a disabled woman who has no family but happens to be rich. After all the shares fell into Elliot's hands, what else does he expect of you?" "You guys—" my throat was blocked. It felt like something stuck in my throat so it was hard to say a word. “Elliot, tell me that this is not true! You won't betray me just like that, will you?" Elliot smiled. The smile that broke me. Without feeling, the man even hugged Patricia and kissed the woman's lips in front of me. "Unfortunately, my future wife is right," replied the man casually. He walked towards me with a big smile. "But calm down. I won't just kick you out. After all, you are a disabled doll that I love. You've been a part of my life, Naomi.” I shook my head. Tears crowded out of the eyelids. It can't be held back at all even though I try hard. "I will treat you well as long as you obey all my words," the man whispered in front of my ear. My heart is broken, but I want to know how far he will go. I stared at the man. “No. I won't believe anything you say anymore.” I took a glass of kiwi juice in front of me and threw it at Patricia. Not on target, but my throw managed to hurt the woman's hand. "Patricia!" Elliot shouted, along with the sound of a broken glass. Plak! Elliot slapped my cheek hard. Then with wide eyes, the man suddenly grabbed my jaw hard until it felt so sore. I can't imagine that the man who used to be as warm as the sun this morning could be this rough to me. "Why are you doing this to me?" I asked in a hoarse voice. Tears kept falling on the cheeks. "Because you are pathetic. You begged me not to leave you when you had an accident and disability. Which crazy man wants to stay with a disabled woman, uh? I only marry you because you still have one advantage; rich. Now? You don't have anything, Naomi!” I sobbed. How painful it was when Elliot threw my face away rudely. When I said I wanted to marry Elliot, I remember how insistent I was. The whole family is against it. But I insisted that I dare to leave the house to live a normal life with him. Now the happiness I dreamed of has disappeared. I know, I should have stopped here. All the happiness I felt in this marriage was just an illusion I created for myself to entertain myself. []
