A Ghost of ages

Siin realize how sour a sweet plan had turned out. He had loosed his guard and became too confident and made the prey instead of the predator. Realised that at that moment it was his life that was at Danger as Baichi had an upper hand towards him. All he could do was lay low in the car while he held his cross bow to observe the outcome of the next event. Ten minutes later , everywhere was still pitch Silence and Siin concluded that Baichi must have fled and had no other surprises down his sleeves. He quickly got of the car with cautions to every sound he heard in the corn field. He hurried in a fake limp , back to his black Mustang making sure he did not take of his mask and left no trails of him before Zooming off feeling unpleased with himself on one hand and feeling lucky that his mistakes had not caused him his life. It was time to restrategize his approach all again. He needed more sophisticated means to carry out his assignments without having to get doused by his supposed victims , one of which had just victimized him. The words of Kaltumi became clearer to him. The need for caution and discreetness could not be overemphasized as it now appeared to him that he was not immune to death and could have easily lost everything if Baichi had used a g*n instead of pepper Spray. As he drove home , he could only imagine the disappointment on Kaltumis face would look like if she found out that he had blown his second chance at life. Further more he imagine the pain in Ramlahs heart should she hear of his sudden demise , he also thought of the pain his adopted father would go through after relying so much in him just to end up with the news of his demise. " I have to be more careful. My existence is key to the happiness of many people." Said Siin in a whisper as he drove his car along the quiet road that led to the facility. For Baichi, he had escaped getting Cleansed for the night but not for eternity , thought Siin. He knew that all he need was a better plan and perhaps to also bend rules in his favor. He believed that giving his target a grace of confessing their Siins was not good for his craft as it exposed him to several dangers among which was getting caught by a police ,due to the lengthy period it took to wrap up the assignment. Another danger inherent , was the fact that his victims may have used the period of confessing to plan up an assault against him as most of them had some aspect of military training. The case of Baichi was a severe lesson to him and he vowed never to put his life at risk at the expense of following others which he didn't see as necessary. " Kaltumi would have to make some adjustments to her instructions. A kill is a kill. The need to confess is just unnecessary. You either want them cleansed or you want them not Cleansed. " Said Siin in a rhetorical whisper as he fumed in anger. He felt very much dissapointed in his self for almost throwing away his second chance at life by neglecting to carry out an enhanced due deligence in the process of cleansing Baichi Gwana. Now he knew that Baichi would fortify his means to protect his life at all cost, thus making it more complicated and risky for him to thoroughly bring him down. But stones were stones and he was bent on taking out the stones irrespective of risk and complications. All that would have to be in the days to come. For now all he needed was to be home safely and rest his aching body on his soft velvet sofa. [ Days later ] It had been a Wednesday evening and it marked the independent day of Salda Kalif thus it was a public holiday and many people did not go to work. They had used the free day to rest tired bones and bond with family. Some had decided to take a stroll to the town square around which Saygaku always sat under the giant Boabab. The past days had seen him enjoy his life to the fullest. A lot of people had wondered what good fortune had befallen him as they saw him purchasing rice and roasted chicken before getting a giant bottle of coke to flush it down. He had placed such an other for almost every and in the week. No one knew that it was the one hundred dollar which Baichi had given him that, had been sponsoring his luxirious lifestyle. Saygaku was of the opinion that he didn't need to save money as the streets were his home and he paid no rent. He also believed that people would always die and there would be need to eat off their Sins ,thus he could only go hungry but he could never starve. As for clothing. He was content wearing his pale white kaftan and he didn't bother changing it in the coming years. Afterall he had three pieces of them which were all gifted to him by the family of a deceased customer. A thorough feast was what gave him joy and he didn't hold back in enjoying himself to the fullest. He just cracked the last bone of chicken he had purchased with his last dollars when he noticed people walking towards him. " Is today a weekend ? " He asked himself in a low tone as he gazed at the clandestined formation of people that walked towards him. " Obadiah. You seem to be enjoying yourself so much. Do you mind to share with us." Said one of the men as they came to halt before the Boabab tree. " To what do I owe this unexpected visit. Please tell me someone is dead and needs saving." Said Saygaku as he stood up to meet crowd. " Not at all Saygaku. You should know that today is independent day. And all independent days are public holidays..we just thought you may have a story for us or perhaps continue on the escapades of the killer Priest." Said another man with a curious smile. " Independent day eh.. okay that's good. So no one went to work today ?" Saygaku asked feeling quite surprised at his findings. " Yes it's expected for all to rest today. We work too hard for very little in this country. It's just normal they allow us take a days off to catch our breath." Said the man with smile as threw his palms aside to buttress his point. " Welcome to you all then . " Said Saygaku as it dawned on him that he could make sense cents. "We want you tell us a story." Repeated the man. " Story eh .? I'm sorry . The spirit has not brought fought the continuation of the killer priest. But I have a story from my past for all you. If you are scared of ghost . Please run away this moment." Said Saygaku as he grinned like a possessed man and hawked his view across their faces. " We all could use some fear tonight. People do not fear God these days . Perharps they could fear a ghost. "Said a woman and laughed out loudly as she was joined by others to laugh. " I will tell you the story of my childhood. There was a ghost who always came to my window when I slept. But you people would promise to part with some cents for my welfare. " Said Saygaku in a Serious tone. " That's not a problem. I believe we could come up with cents enough to get you dinner and a beer to perhaps." Said the man who seemed eager to cool off on Saygakus stories. " Food and beer eh. Great. When I was very young. My I stayed in a small cottage with my poor mother in one of the porest villages of Japan. I never knew my father because he was a soldier of war that died in the first world war even before I was born. My mother was a cleaner at the funeral parlour and as soon as I could hold a broom I was already helping her to complete her very lengthy chores in the parlour. Which which just so unfair to my mother in respect to the meagre wages she was given. She had deviced another means to make some extra money so that we could pay the house rent and eat. Any other thing was regarded as luxry. She had begged to work on a Lord's farm all through the weekends of the planting season and she did it deligently to the best of her Strength and also coordinated me to help out to the best of my ability. The agreement was never to receive a wage in money. My mother begged the lord to pay us with some parts of the harvest , when the harvest periods were at hand. That way , we had food to eat and we used the wage from the chores at the parlour to pay for our old cottage. One day when I was six years old. I told my mother that our life was without spice and sweetness as we seemed stagnant and did not seem to prosper a days prosperity. It seemed that our life was on repeat only that I had grew taller in height and my mother grew thinner in suffering. I told her I want to Join the army but she said I was too young to be taken by the army and even if I was old enough. It would be over her dead body for me to join the army as it was the same craft that killed my father. I cried and told her that I was tired of suffering and needed a job to help both myself and her. She told me never to be in a haste to achieve greatness as things done in haste most had to be done all over again thereby wasting time and scarce resources. I cried and told her that I didn't like the fact that she was growing older by the day and I could not help her. She simply said. Pray for me. She said I have been helpful to her even when I was in her womb as I was her comforter who wiped her tears away. " Said Saygaku and was silent in emotions before he continued to speak again.
