As if being awoken from a bad dream , Siin was so glad that the strange looking woman had appeared from the blues, just in time before Jango had made an unfortunate impact on his well being . He bent on slightly to catch his breath and to look again , making sure Jango was not in sight before standing up straight again, breathed deeply and found the words to speak.
" Good day Madam." Said Siin as he bent his head in appreciation and show of respect to the strange woman who seemed to have appeared from no where.
" What brings you to our mountain young man." Said the old Lady, clearly ignoring his greetings.
" I came to see the witches of mount Kuvaki. I have an issue which only them can solve." Said Siin as he caught his breath amidst staring at his sides and back to see if Jango was staging yet another attack at him.
" Im here to fix my pendant. A great being referred me to this mountain." Said Siin as he panted heavily from the stress his body had gone through with Jango. He pulled out the pendant from beneath the upper region of his shirt and showed it to her.
" Who gave you that pearl?" Exclaimed the elderly lady whose eyes widened, to examine the familiar gem from where she stood.
" It's been mine for more than fifteens years. I bought it when I was still a kid." Said Siin as he flashed the pendant to the view of the old lady who looked as if though she had seen.
" This pearl of yours is very much familiar in feeling and in sight. Who did you say you bought that pearl from.? Said the the old lady as she stared wildly at the Pearl.
" I got it from the market square many years ago when I was still a kid." Said Siin as he Finally found some calm in his heart.
" From who exactly.!? " Said the old lady almost growling in what Siin could differentiate from rage.
" From a Talisman. A huge tall man with a heavy Dread locks that sold native Medicines." Said Siin not knowing why the Pearl caught her facination so much.
" Janga! You talk about Janga. So Janga sold off his Pearl in exchange for worldly things. " She said to her self and went numb in gaze for a while, before finding her words again.
" That Pearl you hold used to belong to my brother Janga. I have one just like it. See. " She said and held up a similar Pearl that dangled form it's a necklace.
She sighed deeply and continued.
" This is a powerful Pearl. Not much of it is available anymore. The man you got this Pearl from is my younger brother. This pearls are gifts from our father who was a famous wizard. Well that's a story for another day." What brings you here." Said The old lady as she stood without moving a limb.
" Indeed the Pearl on your neck looks a lot like man. What brings me here is not far fetched from the Pearl itself. Your brother sold me the Pearl and promised the Pearl would make me happy and rich. I was lonely and I was Sad, but when I got the Pearl it seemed as if though my sadness and worries had been shelved far away from my emotions. It kept True to it's words and made me quite rich." Said Siin as he looked around to see who else was present and most importantly that the wild servant was no where near him.
" Go on. " Said the old Lady as looked around the surrounding to fathom what it was that made Siin so uncomfortable.
" I bought the Pearl with all the money I had and that was how it became my own. However a lot of things had happened over time and the Pearl has ceased to function anymore. Happy is far from me. I have no drive to enjoy anything at all. My life is just so tasteless. Please ma , I need your help to fix back my Pearl. My livelyhood depends a lot on my happiness." Said Siin and went on his knees to buttress his plea for help.
" Hmm come with me to my Shrine. There might be someone you want to see." Said the old lady and turned to a hurt that was only half walled, exposing the interior of the building.
Siin wasted no time to stand and up and hurried after the old woman who he believed was the chief priestess of the mountain. When in the hut. She sat down by on a small tool and got hold of some cowries that lay idol on a red piece of clothing. She encapsulated the cowries with both palms and shaked it thoroughly, murttering some incantations as she shaked it before splattering them over the red piece of cloths. From the manner of their arrangements and the pattern they gave. She nodded her head vigorously after deducting the messages from the cowries.
" Young Man. Your Pearl no longer works and that is true. It needs to be revamped by carrying out some sacrifices on it. Your fears are valid. Happiness is just one of the things you stand to loose if the Pearl stays dormant. Soon your wealth , fame and skills would evade you and your life would be wistful. There is always a price to pay for beholding such a powerful charm. I am shocked that Janga did not tell you this. " Said The old Lady as she looked carefully at the pattern.
" He didn't tell me anything about a price to be paid that was not monetary. I was a little child then, I had no doubt that had he even gave me difficult conditions, I still would have taken the Pearl just so I could be happy."
