The bikeman felt a need to clear Siin on why the bills had to be higher than normal.
" When bikers come to kuvaki. They don't charge on the length of the journey. They charge so high relative to the high risk involve. But nevertheless . It seems your case is different. You have not wasted my time at all and I'm still not hurt or threatened. If I reah lukaka safe and sound, you can keep the remaining five thousand Francs while I settle for the one with me. It's my way of being fair to you Sir." Said the bikeman as he rode away.
" Thats indeed very fair of you. Please you would drop me at my fathers house it's not so far from the bustop. Your fair disposition is really timely because I have been drenched off the last franc I have on me at this moment." Said Siin as he smiled with a sense of accomplishment.
( Days Later)
Election.
The renovations of the family house had swung into action . Indeed beautify was becoming of the ones old and rickety house and it gave Siin great joy knowing it was him, the corner Stone that had eventually come to fix things. It hadn't been long before neighbors began to ask who it was that was sponsoring the renovations of the house as all the men in the house had fallen. Most of them were in shock to find out that it was the so called accursed son who had returned to raise the family name from the dust. Siin wasn't bothered about all the accolades he got from the village chiefs and other well-wishers. What he cared for the most was the results of the upcoming chairmanship election which he had spent a fortune to sponsor his candidate_ Papa Jalo. As promised ,he had bought all the gifts and items and had it distributed to the chiefs and majority of the electorates in the name of Papa Jalo. Indeed many people where in awe to how Papa had stumbled upon such good fortune. No stone was left unturned as Siin made sure that atleast one notable person in a Hamlet got a worthy item in the name of Papa Jalo. Fame had Finally met money and the odds were fashioned in the favor of Siin and Papa Jalo. Siin had also told his sister's and Ummee to give Papa Jalo all the support and mobilization he needed to win , because he had staked a lot on it. Even though Siin had not voiced out to them that he was turned sponsor of Papa Jalo, his body Language had Said it all and they did not want their sibling to loose out on his stake so they had took it upon theirselves to mobilize for support from the women by going from household to household just to convince people to come out and support Papa Jalo. Election day was at hand and hopes were high. Siin sat in the Fula Safari and with a telephone in his hand. He called Papa Jalos line on his cellular to know the atmosphere of things.
" Good morning Papa. How was your night." Said Siin as he got hold of a cup of coffee that sat on crystal glass table.
" I'm doing good sir. How was your night." Said Papa Jalo in a hearty voice.
" I'm doing good. It's election day. As it stands now. It's the only thing still keeping me in Congo. The days of my leave are almost done. Hope elections are holding today?" Said Siin. With a smile to his face.
" Sure sir. Infact we are already at the polling Unit. Everything has been set. I am very optimistic that victory would be ours by the end of this day. I can feel it in my sou." Said an elated Papa Jalo.
" Well you must win. I didn't spend a fortune for you to loose neither would it be okay with your life if you lose. I have done my part. If dare loose this election. Consider your self a goner." Said Siin and sipped some more coffee.
" Well... Yes sir. I will win . I promise you. Infact I have to get back to work right away. I will call you later to update you on the progress of the election. Once again, thank you sir." Said Papa Jalo in a frantic tone. Now he knew that his life was at stake if he lost the election. He had to do everything humanly possible to win and that was the major reason why Siin had initiated the threat.
" Good. And one more thing. I don't need your calls to update me on anything. I need only one call from you and that should be you congratulating me. Is that clear?." Said Siin with air of Majesty.
" Yes sir. Very clear" said Papa Jalo in shaky tone that seemed worsened by the frail network of the morning.
" Great. Goodluck. " Said Siin and Shut down the telephone.
Siin had only two days left to till he travelled back to Salda kalif. Had it not been for the election at hand, he would have to gone back to Salda kalif. Not only had he renovated the home of his siblings, he had settled his step mom and sisters financially thus he didn't have to worry much about their wellbeing when he was eventy back in Salda Kalif. With his happiness back in his control, all he cared about at that moment was the getting hold of some of the many diamonds scattered around the plains of Congo. He was still feeling at ease on his bed in, when the thought of his assignment dawned back on him. His face was quick to fall. The past days at congo had seen him bond with his family and wanted..there was a new sense of happiness in his heart and it was undoubtedly that of being loved by someone. The joy they brought and the smile on their faces had made him forget the fact that he was a stone cold murderer. Now they were away from him and all he could feel was an emptiness that sprouted from guilt. It was the notion of having been effective in the murder of men ,that made him feel bad. But then came the comforting thought of gratification. He felt he would have been dead as well had Kaltumi not given him a second chance at life.
