The window cleaner

A Rendition

The two men still sat in the room facing each other with great expectations. Siin expected more money and Doctor Allen expected more miracles. 

" Actually Sir. It's just that life itself is priceless and even if you paid me a million dollars in compensation.It will still fall short of gratitude. It's rather a token of appreciation . I won't be the one who robs innocent staffs off their Salaries. however I will take this thirty thousand dollars as a gift from your staffs for saving their jobs. Now, I want another thirty thousand dollars from the facilities treasury as compensation for saving my own life. " Said Siin as he majestically shoved the envelope in the pocket of the new clothing which the Facility had bought for him. 

" Oh well then... Who are we to turn down the request of our benefactor." Said Doctor Allen who masked his shock of  a window cleaners audacity, with an outburts of giggles.

" I don't want it from the salaries of the your one hundred and fifty two staffs . however if that's the only way of getting it . Then I will have no choice but to get it like that . " Said Siin as he sipped the tea with an air of ease. The thirty thousand dollars in his pocket meant that he had evacuated the poverty circle and was indeed on his way to achieving greatness.

" You are no ordinary Window Cleaner Mr Siin .I must commend your guts. We will write you a check of thirty thousand dollars that I am sure of. But I must deliberate with other top management before doing so." Said Doctor Allen with a Smile.

" Thank you sir. I used to be a window cleaner but not anymore. " Said Siin in a  calm voice and smiled heartily.

" One more thing Mr Siin. We are still in Shock on how you were able to perform a C section operation on a dead patient without causing further casualties. That's a feat not many great surgeons in this facility could achieve. Where did you learn your skills from. " Asked Doctor Allen in curiosity.

" Congo sir. I was trained as a surgeon in the university of congo , a few years ago. When the war broke out. My credentials were destroyed in a fire which I had escaped from. When I fled to Salda Kalif on the Arab missionary ship. I had no proof of studying medicine and no one was willing to give me a job . I had to settle for what I could get which was the job of a window cleaner. " Said Siin with so much confidence that Doctor Allen believed all what he had said. "

" Oh poor lad. I am glad the good Lord had spared your life to grace us all. This is Salda Kalif. The land of the free. Here, we reward men on what they do and not what they claim they can do. I totally have confidence in your surgical skills and I hereby offer you a job as a surgeon in this facility. I need gifted hands like you who can take this facility to the zeniths of the medical Pinnacle. You can go home and think about it . We pay our surgeons very well. " Said Doctor Allen . With a tone of calm and seriousness.

" No sir . I don't think I need to go home and think about it. I want to commence work this very moment. I have missed saving the lives of people and my hand aches from having to clean windows all days. Get me a surgical vest and I shall swing into action." Said Siin in a majestic manner. 

" Great then. A young man with drive and essence. You see Mr Siin, If the youths, of the world were like you .the world would have been a better place. I'm very happy to have you on board. Hold on a minute, I see a convoy coming into the facility. I think Sheik Shagori is here. " Said Mr Allen and stood up to get a clearer view from the window.

" Come with me my boy . Let's go and welcome the Sheikh. " Said Doctor Allen as he fetched Siin by the hand and hurried downstairs to welcome the billonaire.

" Could what you claim be true. Said Sheikh Shagori as he walked hurriedly towards the pediatric section , accompanied by his Entourage and the top management of the facility.

" Yes sir . Last night our team of experts had revisited the corpse of lady Charlotte in an attempt to save the baby who was a great fighter. Indeed sir you have a heir who has taken after you in might and bravery. Thanks to the rare expertise of Dr Siin our new Surgeon we were able to resurcitate your son and salvaged him from the hands of death. " Said Doctor Allen in excited voice that dripped of humbleness.

" May the good Lord be praised . I always had confidence in your staffs. It's just unfortunate that Charlotte was a Chronic drunk . Oh My heir is alive. " He said as he approached the nurse that held the infant in a sparkling white showel . She had been informed to stand holding the baby to welcome it's Father.

" Here is your great heir Sir " said the nurse as she stretched forward the infant to it's Father who quickly got hold of it.

" Indeed ! May the Lord of my fathers be praised. This is my heir. He carries the birth mark of our family on his chin. He also has six toes on his left foot just like I still do. " Said Shagori as he took out his left foot from the enclave of his lion skin shoe , making it visible for everyone to see. He the look of the child bore a striking similarity to that of his mother. He had took her pink lips , her blonde hair and her blue eyes , but apart from that. The child was a carbon copy of his father and everyone could see it.

" Congratulations sir . May he grow to be greater than you sir." Said a voice from Among the crowd who were in jubilant in frenzy.

" Amen . I love that prayer. Who are you young man. You pray very well. " Said the Sheikh still holding the infant warmly to his bossom .

" I am Doctor Siin Sebanyi . I was the one who saved the life of your son sir. " Said Siin with an air of confidence and humbleness.

" Bless your soul young man . Bless your soul . You have save me from shame and mockery. Now the whole world would believe I can father a male child to. Your great deeds would not go without reward." Said The Sheikh as he walked up to Siin and gave him a hand shake.

" Thank you sir . Saving life Is what we do here. Your child is alive because Doctor Allen manages this facility well . He promised all the tools needed for a safe operation. Only a few managers could have been so deligent enough to keep such expensive and rare tools . I really owe my glory to doctor Allen and nurse Ramlah. They were exceptional in saving the babies life . You should show your appreciation to them to . " Said with a confident smile. He Could see Doctor Allen blushing in appreciation of the honor assigned to him by Siin.

" I always have great confidence in Doctor Allen. He is a honest manager and a great Doctor. Forgive my outburst from last night. I was furious and ascribed blames to you . If anyone is to blame then it is Charlotte. If only she had listened to me. " Said the Sheikh as he grew emotional.

" Thank you sir". There is no problem at all." Said Doctor Allen with an uncompose smile.

Soon had noticed the uneasiness in every staffs face. They had been eargely waiting for the sheikh to finally say he had dropped the charges against them but he seemed to engulfed with his new born baby that he had claerly forgot about the matter. It was time to be the Hero once again and he wasted no time in taking his shot at glory. He fell on his knees abruptly and began to speak

" Please Merciful Sheikh. Our hearts are heavy for your loss . We wished we could have saved Lady Charlotte to. But time had played us out. Oh merciful Sheikh , be merciful on the humble staffs of this facility and withdraw the lawsuit you wish to serve against us." Said Siin almost breaking down into sobs.

" Oh no . Please stand up my young hero. Let me call my lawyer to recede the case. You have my words that harm will come to this facility as long as I live. Get up please. " Said the Chief as he hurried towards Siin and helped him to his Feet. The relief on every staffs face was great to see and it seemed to brighten the atmosphere even more.

" Who is this Ramlah you talk about. I want her to be a foster mother to this child. I will pay her three times of what she is paid here. She will live in one of my several mansion and she Shall lack no luxry. That is how I reward people who sacrifice for my happiness. For you Doctor Allen I will see to it that your status is promoted to the world health organisation. An award of excellence in management awaits you from the office of the Sultan himself it comes with much luxirious gift and a promotion to a bigger ministry. As for the rest of the staffs of this facility. You will have extra salaries for this coming month coutesy of my benovolence. and as for you Mr Siin my great hero. " You shall come with me to my chambers so we could discuss on what you want. Indeed , I am a Shagori and I am a benefactor to my helpers and a curse to my enemies. " Said The Sheikh amidst the loud applause that filled the hall.
