"Your father and I will be working together," Miles informed Liam. "I trust that won't create any conflicts for you personally?"
Liam glanced at David, then straightened his shoulders. "Actually, sir, there's something else we need to discuss. David and I are planning to announce our engagement next month."
The silence stretched for exactly three heartbeats before Richard stepped forward and clasped David's hand warmly. "Welcome to the family, son. I hope you're prepared for the chaos that comes with it."
David's relief was palpable. "Thank you, Mr Jenkins-Whitmore. I promise to take good care of him."
