My wolf bursts out of me in a violent wave of silver light. One moment I am standing on shaking legs, the next my entire body bends inward as the light tears free. The world folds. My vision fractures. My breath disappears. The ground falls away beneath me and then slams back into place. Silver erupts outward like a star exploding. The force knocks Adam backward. I hear the sharp crack of stone beneath him as his body hits the ground. Dust lifts into the still air, glowing with the silver scattered through it. I cannot see him clearly. My human eyes are already gone. My body collapses, unconscious or barely conscious, but my wolf does not fall with me.
