Chapter 26: Deal (2) *** George was finally back at his apartment. He laid down on his back, feeling exhausted after yet another day of work. His muddled brain and blurred vision turned to his phone that began ringing. “Who would be calling me now of all times?” He wondered out loud as he picked up. “Hello.” His tired voice barely murmured. “Honey, you finally picked up.” His mother was on the other end of the line, her voice seemed tired as well but still more energetic than her son’s. “Mom?” Suddenly George’s eyes shot open, he sat up straight upon hearing his mother’s voice.
