“You took an interest in me after the funeral… because you said you owed my father a lot but I still can’t make sense of that.”
“You don’t need to. Just know you can turn to me whenever you need me. I can give you anything you ask for.”
That conversation replayed in the very back of Pesco’s mind while he was at work. Jennifer entered the office soon after. Although he was quiet for a while he finally spoke up…
“About the new hire…” Jennifer’s voice was hoarse as if he had been contemplating on this issue for a while. The words didn’t come out easily either. “I think you should let him go, or at least change him to a department that wouldn’t cause as much trouble for us.” He suggested with his head hanging low.
“You really don’t like him that much?”
