Her Last Wish

His pain and Her peace

Kie's POV

I hurriedly turned my back from her as I felt my eyes burning. When I was already inside, I let the tears I have been holding back since the moment I saw her outside fall like waterfalls. Actually, I really miss her. In fact, even until now I still long for her. I was mad at her, but that time when I first saw her again in the school after one year, I badly want to hug her. I want to ask her why she vanished one year ago without even saying a word. I want to know why she just suddenly left me hanging without even a single word, but I got scared to hear her answer. Fear and anger took over me, so I treated her coldly. I want to hate her like I did for the past year, but when I saw her efforts five days ago, I can't deny that my heart really did softened a lot. I truly can't hate her. I still love her so much. I proved it earlier when I was also in pain as I saw her crying, mostly when she said that she will not leave until I'll listen to her. And then, it hits me. I didn't waste any seconds and hurriedly run outside, but I am a little disappointed, not that I wanted to see her soaked in the rain just for me but its just that maybe I am hoping that she would actually sacrifice for me, but she's already gone. I guess she left when it started raining.

I am back here in my room. My phone rings. "What is it Zhy?" I asked her coldly.

"Well, hello to you too Kie. Anyway, it's about Em," she said.

"Wha-," she didn't let me finish.

"Opps, don't react. Im coming over to your house. We'll talk in there. Don't ever dare to escape me otherwise you'll be dead," she warned and then hangs up.

I don't have any idea what she's saying but since it is about Em, I guess I should talk to her. After a few minutes, Zhy arrived. We talked in the living room. My world shattered when she told me everything. She said that Em wore make-up, hiding her pale lips and preventing me from noticing that she is sick. She also cleared to me that the reason why Em wasn't able to say goodbye was because she was unconscious and in an emergency situation when her parents brought her to the States. She also stopped her contacts with me because she didn't want me to worry. She did what she has done, considering me while here I thought she left me for another guy, believing Leejin and the lies that she constructed. I should have known better!

"So, all this time she was dying, but instead of taking good care of her and making her happy, I kept on hurting her," I said with endlessly flowing tears. I despise myself. How could I be so foolish and dense. I don't know what to do anymore. Aside from the truth that I broke Em so much, the girl I love the most other than my mom, is dying and now, she has only 1 day left to live.

"What should I do Zhy? I know I've been too harsh to her this days, but I can't live without her. I still love her so much. Please tell me it was just a joke," I begged her hoping she'll take back her words, but she just give me a bitter smile. I am crying out loud while Zhy is comforting me when Tito Caleb comes in running like a mad man.

"Kie, I beg of you. My daughter is in our private hospital having a hard time right now. She's dying already and she wants to see you. Please, I'll do everything you want just please come to her now," Tito kneeled in front of me, but he didn't have to do it longer when I quickly run after hearing his words and drive to the hospital as fast as i can.

@ the Odesi Private Hospital

I immediately run to her room as soon as i arrived. I opened the door and there, I saw her breathing heavily while Tita Lyra, her mom is holding her left hand while crying.

"Finally, you're here," once again, I burst in tears when I saw her smile. I walk into her side and holds her right hand.

"Please forgive me Em. I love you so much. I didn't mean to-" I started to be hysterical when she stopped me.

"Shh, it's fine. You don't have to be sorry. T-Thank y-you for be-being here. Ca-Can you le-lend me yo-your arms?" I sit beside her in the bed and help her get up to lean in my shoulder while I wrap my arms around her back supporting her. We are savoring the moment. If only we are in a happier case, I could have view this as one of the most wonderful events that I experienced, but no, it's the other way around, because this exactly the worst happening in my entire life. However, no matter how much it kills me, I don't want to prolong her suffering, I love her so much and for the sake of her peace, I will set her free.

After a while, she break the silence. "I can't endure it anymore Kie. I'm sorry, but I'm going," I slowly nod at her with a sorrowful smile.

"I love you so much Em. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Leave in peace love," I finally said and kiss her in the lips for the last time.

"I-I will co-count on that l-love. I love you too and farewell," and with those last words, she left me again, but this time, I know she won't be coming back anymore.

I am now crying to my hearts content while still holding her corpse. Though they are also in deep sorrow, Tito and Tita rush into my side and tells me to be strong.
