"Well, it appears like Abigail could be in danger." As Abigail walked out, the sound of Ezekiel's voice reverberated throughout the space. His remarks startled the Hawthorne's into focusing on him. "What are you trying to say?" Mrs. Hawthorne inquired as her face grew tense. "This time, I believe Victor is preparing something significant, and Abigail is part of it." Ezekiel went on. " Victor!!! I thought we were done with that guy," Mr. Hawthorne said, a hint of rage in his voice. " Relax, Henry" Ezekiel said. "I suppose he intends to target not only our company but also our relatives, and he clearly views Abigail as the most vulnerable one," Ezekiel remarked. "Oh my god, I am done with this guy," Mr. Hawthorne sighed and collapsed back onto the couch, pressing his fingers to his forehead. "My baby is in danger," Mrs. Hawthorne uttered repeatedly as she walked around the room. "Darling, do not worry, everything will work out," Mr. Hawthorne comforted her by stopping her in her tracks and making her sit down. "I came because I think Victor will make his move on her prom night. I will be her date and I will be watching out for any potential threats," Ezekiel said. Their conversation was cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps. *********** Martha reached out for Abigail's face, sensing the fear in her eyes. "What is wrong, sweetheart?" Martha asked, her voice revealing her genuine concern. Abigail was forced to stop her deep trembling. "Nothing, I was just startled when the door flew open," she said and placed her phone on her bed. "Mmn ... .sure" Martha said as she patted Abigail's head. Even though Abigail was unable to comprehend what was happening in her mind, the message had a startling effect on her. She was unaware of the sender of the message. "Am I in some sort of danger?" Her thoughts kept returning to the question. She chose to withhold it from everyone for the time being because she cannot afford to cause anxiety in anyone. She was confident that Martha would have noticed something was off based on her expression. She would first need to attempt to remove this from Martha's mind. "Why don't we start the fitting?" she asked, her smile broadening. Martha just stared at her for a few seconds without saying anything, and then she nodded. After putting on the dress and heels, Abigail hurried to her mirror, gasping at what she saw. "I adore the dress so much," she exclaimed, squealing silently as she spun around in front of the mirror. "It is really beautiful and it suits you really well." Martha's voice reverberated from behind her. "Ezekiel certainly understands your preferences and what fits you," she remarked, giving Abigail a wink as her face flushed. " Come, let me help you put on the jewelries " Martha said as she pulled out a chair for her to sit in front of the mirror., "Wow, the shine is so beautiful." Abigail said as she was in awe as her fingers played with the necklace that rested on her collarbone. "Shall I lead you to your prince's rooms?" With a British accent, Martha made small talk and held out her hands. "Oh yes," she responded, joining in and holding out her hands. As they made their way to the living room, they both laughed. As soon as the double doors were opened and Abigail entered, the initial tension was released. "Darling, you look too beautiful in the dress," Ezekiel praised her as he got up and leaned in closer. Taking her hand in his, he spun her around. "Damn! My daughter is the fairest of them all." Her father exclaimed as he grinned broadly. To everyone's amazement, Ezekiel unexpectedly dropped to one knee and held out a ring. Abigail was taken aback by his unexpected move and stared at him dumbfounded as he bent over and held a ring in his hands before his deep, seductive voice filled the space. "May I accompany you to prom?" he asked. Still in shock, Abigail just nodded while shedding uncontrollable tears. Ezekiel got up, put his hand in hers, inserted the ring in her finger, and planted a kiss there. As Abigail examined the ring on her finger, she could not help but smile. "Well, look at the time; it is time for dinner." The sound of Abigail's father's voice filled the space. She hurried to join Ezekiel, clasping his hand as they started to head towards the dining hall. Abigail and Ezekiel continued to act as though they were a married couple, making the dining hall more animated. When Abigail realized that Ezekiel was feeding her and had forgotten to eat, she noticed and reached out to feed him, which started the reciprocal show of affection. "Abigail, you have to wait to get married before you can feed any man but me," her father joked. In a very adorable way, Abigail pursed her lips. "Dad, did you just add something new to my list of limitations?" With a look of obvious displeasure on her face, Abigail exclaimed. "Well, Mr. Hawthorne, you do realize that we are already engaged; you recall that I recently proposed to her?" Ezekiel teasedly smiled. " That was for prom, that doesn't count" her father snapped back. " It is over with you guys going back and forth; Abigail is allowed to feed anyone she wants, and stop being jealous Henry" Abigail's mother said as she gently nudged her husband. "Thank you mummy," she said, as she pouted her lips at her daddy. which caused him to laugh. "My apologies, darling, I became jealous." Abigail's father apologized. "Please, let us finish dinner." her mother implored. Eventually, the quiet persisted until the end of dinner. Following dinner, everyone merely conversed, with Abigail and Ezekiel essentially catching up on past events. "What are your plans for tomorrow?" Ezekiel asked, leaning forward and resting his head on his palm. "It is nothing specific," she said, holding out a sliced apple to him. "Okay, I have a surprise for you. We are heading out," he said, taking the apple from her. "Well, dad and mum, I am going to bed now because I want to be fully energized for tomorrow," she said, walking over to give them a quick kiss on the cheeks. "Goodnight, sweetie," her parents said. Abigail approached Ezekiel and planted a kiss on his forehead. She said, "Goodnight, Ezekiel," and ran up the stairs. Ezekiel spoke again, filling the room after they were certain she would have reached her room. " I am trying to lure the victor out". "And I will be using Abigail as bait," he added.
