Chapter 12

After Rivers dropped jake off at his house since he was too much intoxicated to drive home, she just drove home in pure silence. This whole cute date thing with a crush as turned into just the biggest mess every existed. Once rivers got home, it was about 4am.

*********Rivers POV*****

Finally I can go to sleep. It has been one hell of a night. Went from me going out and enjoying myself to trying to get two people to talk to each other again when they barley talked in the first place.

Laying in bed, all her mind did was wonder.

This don’t even my problem and I’m stressing. What the hell gives?

Closer her eyes to hopefully be able to sleep, she saw such a handsome face. One that put a smile on her before but she hasn’t talked to him since that night at the club. Pushing all negative thoughts aside, she just let her mind wonder into a beautiful, sweet dream.

Hours had gone by, by the time she woke up, the sun was shining bright into her room.

“Ugh it’s too damn early to be up,” muttering to herself.

Looking at the clock it was 1pm.

“Guess I’ll get up, not like I’ll be able to sleep tonight anyways.”

Crawling out of bed to lazily walk over to Madison’s room who was surprisingly still sleeping.

“Madison, wake up!! You never sleep in this late. What’s going on?” Sounding more worried then what she was trying to put off.

“I haven’t been sleeping much lately and after last night, crying so much then our conversation with Jake and you, of course, I turned my alarms off and wanted to just sleep the day away” seeing a sad look of defeat on her face.”

“We sleep the day away, we are going to miss all the excitement. Can’t be having that!” Trying to sound cheery but I could tell Madison was seeing right through it.

BING! BING!

Hearing Madison’s phone ding off, I knew exactly who it was.

“Alright, we’ll Im going to get showered up and ready for what’s left of the day, why don’t you do the same and we can have a girls day!”

“How does Jake have my number for starters? Rivers, what did you do?” Trying to sound serious but I could see a little hope and relief in her voice and smile.

Before I gave her a answer, I took off to the bathroom and locked the door.

********Rivers POV****

BING! BING!

“Good morning beautiful!! It’s Jake. Sleep well!”

“Good afternoon Jake. How did you get my number?”

“I have my ways, I rather of you given it to me so since you didn’t, I had to get it another way. Anyways, what are you doing tonight?”

This man is so cheesy but yet it makes me smile.

“Ehh I’m not sure. What’s up?”

“Let me take you on a date, please! I won’t mess this up, I swear. I’ve been a good boy(wink emoji).

“What abut Autumn?”

“Please don’t bring that up. It was a huge mistake, I don’t even talk to her.”

“It’s been a day. Don’t act like it’s been weeks.”

“Damn beautiful, why do you want to start a fight with me? I’ll spend the rest of my days showing you how sorry I am. So let me start with tonight. Please Madison.”

What’s one date going to hurt? I have had a crush on him since forever and can’t stop thinking about him but then the image of Autumn comes to my mind. Ugh this will always haunt me. I hope I don’t always have to see her face bleed into my brain like bleach is to cotton. Hearing his voice give me goosebumps. We barley have talked, he as apparently seen me at my drunken worst side. I’ll give him a chance.

“Okay, I’ll give you one last chance. I’ll meet you at Applebees at 6 o’clock tonight. If your not there, don’t call me or talk to me again.”

Before I let him answer, I hung up. At least if he stands me up, I can enjoy some good food.

******Jakes POV****

Waking up this morning I felt hungover like I got hit my a truck. Why do I turn to drinking when I feel like s**t the next day? Oh yeah, it numbs the pain for a bit. I remember talking to Rivers last night and calling Madison on the phone but the conversation was a bit faint. Hope I didn’t say anything I will regret…again.

Looking through my phone I noticed I have a text from Rivers. Must of told her my number last night, I can’t remember. So I open the message.

“Hey, it’s Rivers. Here is Madison’s phone number. DON’T MESS THIS UP!!! If you do, he’ll will break lose.”

Reading the text I was excited and a bit shocked. Dang, this girl! Deciding to get ready for the day, have a cup of coffee to help wake up since I slept most of the day. Once I was a bit more awake and alert, i took the plunge and dialed Madisons number.

Good morning beautiful!! Sleep well!”

“Good afternoon Jake. How did you get my number?”

“I have my ways, I rather of you given it to me so since you didn’t, I had to get it another way. Anyways, what are you doing tonight?”

“Ehh I’m not sure. What’s up?”

“Let me take you on a date, please! I won’t mess this up, I swear. I’ve been a good boy.

“What about Autumn?”

Rolling my eyes and feeling a bit annoyed she brought her up.

“Please don’t bring that up. It was a huge mistake, I don’t even talk to her.”

“It’s been a day. Don’t act like it’s been weeks.”

“Damn beautiful, why do you want to start a fight with me? I’ll spend the rest of my days showing you how sorry I am. So let me start with tonight. Please Madison.”

I was starting to sound pathetic, begging like a little puppy dog but I didn’t care. I would go on my knees and beg her infront if the school if that would make her happy. After what felt like forever, she finally gave me a answer.

“Fine, I’ll give you one last chance. I’ll meet you at Applebees at 6 o’clock tonight. If you are not there, don’t call or talk to me again!”

Before I could answer, she hung up. Having a huge smile on my face, I was not going to mess this up. She runs a hard game but I will be sure to win her heart.
