Sophia's words hung in the air like a challenge, her eyes flashing with anger. Julian's grip on Alexandra's wrist tightened, his eyes locked onto Sophia's.
"What are you talking about, Sophia?" Julian demanded, his voice low and even.
Sophia's smile was like a knife cut, sharp and deadly. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, Julian," she spat. "You think you can just walk away from me, from us, without consequences?"
Alexandra's eyes darted between Julian and Sophia, her mind racing with questions. What was going on? Who was Sophia, really?
Julian's face was a mask, his emotions hidden behind a wall of calm. "Sophia, please," he said, his voice softening. "Let's not do this here."
But Sophia was relentless, her words pouring out like venom. "You're just like all the others, Julian," she sneered. "You think you can use me and discard me like trash?"
Alexandra felt a pang of sympathy for Sophia, despite the woman's venomous tone. There was pain behind her words, a deep hurt that seemed to radiate from her very pores.
Julian's eyes flashed with anger, his jaw clenched in a tight line. "That's not fair, Sophia," he growled. "You know I never meant to hurt you."
But Sophia just laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You never meant to hurt me?" she repeated, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're a liar, Julian. A liar and a cheat."
The room seemed to shrink, the tension between Julian and Sophia almost palpable. Alexandra felt like she was caught in the crossfire, unsure of what to do or say.
And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, everything stopped. Sophia's words died on her lips, her eyes fixed on something behind Alexandra.
Alexandra turned to see what had caught Sophia's attention, her heart sinking as she saw a figure standing in the doorway...
