A few minutes after the confrontation, Demitri fell to the ground. He died of a heart attack.
"You're next, Raina," he said to himself before leaving the scene.

Her
A week had passed since her father's death. She cried like no other that day. Thankfully, Tyler was by her side. When he was present, all her sadness vanished. He had a way of making her feel peaceful.
"I'm so glad you came back to me, Tyler. When my mother died, I felt the world crashing on me, with none to help me."
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there by your side, Butterfly. Just know this - I would never leave you again, till the end of time. "
Raina wasn't fully happy about Tyler's return. There were times she suspected him. However, every time he came around, all her suspicions would fade away.
Didn't he already prove how the Palace guards received wrong information to not let him enter?
Wasn't he able to show how much he'd grown in training?
What was there not to believe?
Only her mind - her mind was in doubt. Raina was no longer the teenager who would leap with joy whenever Tyler was present. She'd trained in battle for many years. She dealt with many criminals. However, she was a prisoner of love.
Too in love to question her mate,
Too in doubt to not question him.
However, a month passed by without him bringing out any suspicions. He was as crystal as a lake.
Now, the pack was in deliberation as to who may become the next Alpha. Who would it be? Raina Jackson or Tyler Reynaldo, son of Alpha Alexander Reynaldo?
"My butterfly shouldn't busy herself with these things, how many times do I have to tell you this?" He interrupted her gardening,
"Hey! Don't step on that. I put a seed down there!" She replied, pushing him away from the place he'd stepped on.
"You're always too busy down here. I can't believe she chose gardening over her husband."
She rolled her eyes,
"We're not married yet. Just mates. "
He shrugged,
"That doesn't mean I can't call you my wife. Now, kiss your husband. "
"No, go away! " She yelled, throwing dirt at him. He smiled and walked closer,
"You asked for this!"
Soon enough, he grabbed her by the waist and began planting kisses on her neck.
"Stop!" She moaned, trying to move away.
"I'm addicted to you. I can't stop."
He began planting kisses on her body, exploring different parts of her legs. Suddenly, he stopped as he gazed at something familiar.
She noticed him release her.
"What's wrong? You found something more addicting?" She teased,
"That's a castor plant, right? " He asked, looking directly at him, while memories flooded his head.
"Yeah. So?"
"How long has it been there? I noticed the same plant here before I left seven years ago."
She shrugged,
"I've always had it. I don't know, it's just something unique I like to keep. "
He looked at her again,
"Let's get married, Butterfly. "

"I'm sorry, Tyler. But you didn't claim your position for more than five years. You can no longer be an Alpha. "
The council informed him during the meeting. He had prepared for the news already,
"The only way you can become an Alpha is if Raina marries you and gives you the Alpha position. This way..."
"I accept. " Raina said, not thinking twice.
He smirked within himself. She fell for his trap.
"Raina, dear, this is not something you can decide in minutes," Beta Ryan tried to say.
"There's no use thinking. He's always supposed to be an Alpha. Plus, I'll be the Luna, would I not? "
The council members talked within themselves,
"Are you sure...?"
"Plan a wedding tomorrow, instead."

As she walked down the aisle, she thought to herself. Of course, she thought things true. The Alpha position was never supposed to be hers. Also, they loved each other well enough. She had no reason to doubt her decision. Her father would certainly have given up the position back to Tyler if he was alive to see Tyler return.
"Do you, Raina Jackson, daughter of Alpha Demitri Jackson, agree to hand over your Alpha rights to your mate, Tyler Reynaldo, son of Alpha Alexander Reynaldo?"
"I do. "
As she said this, the council judge turned to Tyler,
"Do you accept to become the next Alpha?"
"I do. "
Immediately, Tyler's wolf increased in shape and size.
"In that case, I pronounce you the new Alpha of BloodMoon Pack."
He clutched his chest in pain as his strength increased.
Soon, they were about to enter the next phase of the ceremony.
"Do you accept Raina Jackson, daughter of the late Demitri Jackson as your wife and Luna?"
He held her hands, his eyes looked at her with love. Suddenly, they turned red.
"I, Alpha Tyler Reynaldo of Blood Moon Pack..."
Her heart skipped a beat as she awaited his next words,
"Reject you, Raina Jackson, as my mate and Luna!"
Her heart shattered to pieces. She felt the mate bond break. She was weak to the core.
He rejected her.
He betrayed her.
There was a large uproar of emotions,
"You... What?"
"I have no use for you, Raina. I hate you so much that I'd rather stay without a mate than stay with you by my side."
A tear dropped from her eyes,
"Why? Why did you reject me?"
He smiled,
"That's what your family did me. Take her away, "
He ordered. The guards immediately came to walk Raina to the dungeon.
Still shocked by the whole ordeal, Raina managed to have enough courage,
"I, Raina Jackson, daughter of Alpha Demitri Jackson, accept your rejection. I hope you rot in hell, mate."
She walked briskly towards the dungeon.

In the night, the whole pack was in utter disbelief. Raina, especially. She had heard, through the guards that she was going to be executed the next day. A week had passed since Raina's arrest. Tyler tried to convince himself that he'd gotten revenge on everyone who had done him wrong, yet, he was still hurt by his mate's betrayal.
Did he do the wrong thing?
He sat by the chair, watching the guards burn her garden as per his request.
"Justice will be served tomorrow, Mother."
...
Through the silence of the night, a letter was sent to someone from the masked warrior,
"Set the rose free from its thorns, let it bloom with love and beauty. Bring my lover to me."
