“How do you know the owner?” Aylee asked. We were on our way to Rushing’s Gym and Fitness so we could work out. I needed something to punch instead of Chazz’s face when he came to pick her up tonight. I’d been dreading the moment all f*****g week.
“He’s a good friend and also a UFC Heavyweight Champion. His wife is the owner of K&B Bistro. You remember her, right?”
“Yes, of course. I didn’t know you knew so many MMA fighters. You’ll need to take me to a fight sometime.”
“I’m sure that can be arranged. I actually just worked a case out here not too long ago for a girl who works here. Her name’s Megan. Hopefully, you’ll get to meet her.”
“What kind of case?”
“Abusive boyfriend turned psycho. But she’s alive and well, so that’s all that matters.”
