“Gather round, Everyone!” a voice called out from across the field.
The crowd started to pour in. They rushed in from all sides of the field. They gathered in front of a man in a gray shirt and black pants.
“On that board are the fixtures, the first race starts in one hour.” The man yelled at the top of his voice.
The crowd in front of him started to mumble.
A man sitting up on a platform flipped a large glass case filled with hourglasses. Under were boards with numbers he could change. On the board, a timer read: Time till race 01:00:59.
The crowd rushed to notice the board spread around the field.
