In a fight stance, Syth stood ready. The creature waved at him and he followed it. Syth followed the creature through trees to draped creeping plants. Behind the wall of creeping plants was a piece of land. There, every plant was dead, and the circle of death kept growing. Syth walked closer, dried leaves crunched as he walked through the field. In the middle of the field was the cause. A normal-looking pebble on the ground. Two men knelt beside it. Syth recognized one of the men. He was the man who was dragged away by vines earlier. “This is what is causing the blight,” the man said to Syth. “It would continue to take away from the soil until there is nothing left,” Syth bent down to pick up the pebble.
