Feelings and Magic Binding

896 Words
The hotel the group was staying at was in downtown Bedford, Maine. The group could not really sleep due to the normal street noise and racing thoughts from current events. No one wanted to talk about what happened the other day. They just went about their evening. Selma brought out the spell binding pictures and notes that she had been working on. Margo came over to see what Selma had found. “May I see what you found so far?” Margo asking Selma. “Sure. But this notes are just fragments to spell that I have been trying to piece together.” Selma said handing Margo some notes. Margo sat on the couch next to Selma reading the notes. She was somewhat confused by the language that was written. “What language is this spell written in?” “It’s Latin. I will be honest. This is complicated to translate myself. I think we need Google to help with this.” Selma sighing laying back on the couch. “Do you think we need the local library to help translate this spell?” Margo questioned. Selma removed her arm from over her eyes and said, “If it comes to it, then maybe we do.” She sat back up then stood up. Then went over to the bed to sleep. Thomas came over after Selma went to bed. He sat down next Margo and peeked over what she was reading. Margo looks up and asks, “Do you understand Latin?” “Not really. I only understand some words but we might need Google translate to help us figure this out.” Thomas agreed. “Ava cornered me outside the bathroom at the supermarket. She was wondering if you had feelings for me. Noticing how we acted towards on another.” Margo told Thomas. Margo waited for Thomas to answer her and she noticed that was he nervous. Thomas turned towards Margo. He admits, “I do have feelings for you. It’s hard to make a move then feelings like you might reject me. Because of what is going on currently that is making me nervous.” “I would never have rejected you. We could explore where this goes and take our time. Do you want this?” Margo asked Thomas. Thomas took the papers out of Margo’s hand and places the papers on the table. He took Margo’s hands in his to comfort to reassure her that he accept her offer. They still needed to get to know one another first. Margo was scared to trust any relationship but she knew what Thomas could provide for their budding relationship. She needed to be sure of how she felt about Thomas. Ava was right. She did have feelings for her brother. “Can we take this slow for both our sake?” Margo peeling through her eyelashes at him. “Yes, we could do that. What would the others think though?” Thomas questioned. “Who cares what the others think. This is about us. Not them or anyone else in that matter.” Margo encouraged. “Okay, My mother is what I worry about. If she has eyes and ears around Bedford that her children were on the run with supernatural.” Thomas replies. “She would have to accept who her children date or marry. She would have to accept you guys are capable of making your own decisions or based on her approval either.” Margo said to reassure Thomas. “ Thank you for that” Thomas said bumping Margo’s shoulder. Margo laid her head on Thomas’s shoulder and eventually fell asleep on the couch in the same position. Someone was shaking her shoulder to wake her up. Opening her eyes, Margo saw Selma looking at her. She motioned for her to follow her. They walked out of the room with the notes. “I needed you to get away from the others to be able to the spell.” Selma said. “Are you sure this will work?” Margo unsure of what is going to happen. “We need to make sure that this sticks and that your magic signature is hidden from the council and Lucius. Once this happens, you will be remotely human.” Selma insisted. Selma read through the instructions of the binding spell and got a dagger to slice her palm. She gestures to Margo to do the same thing. Margo complied and did what she told. Selma started to do chants and took both of their hands to mix their bloody palms together. The chanting started to flow around then and the words started to fade. Their palms began to glow as the spell. Margo started to notice the glow starting to fade as well. She started to feel her magic begin to fade and lock away. Also, felt remotely human. Selma noticed the changed and knew it worked. “I don’t feel your magic signature. It means we could move without having to worry about being tracked anymore. This spell is a game changer. It might work on Ava to keep her wolf dormant.” Selma explains and laughs soon after. Both ladies went back to the hotel room. Hoping the others don’t think anything happened to them by being out. They promised one another that will keep what happened to themselves.
