The Questions and Escape

“Well hello Margo. Glad you could be awake for me. We have a few questions for you. You shake your head if you understand. Okay?” Kaleb instructed.

Kaleb walks around in front of Margo and sits on the chair across from her. There was only a single light over head and it was very dim. Margo could not really see Kaleb's face. Clearly he was all business.

“Do you know who I am? Kaleb questioned.

Margo tried to talk but realizing her mouth was still taped shut. She only nodded no.

Kaleb saw her shake her head no. He tells her, “My family hunts supernaturals such as you. I have my eye on a certain target you might be able to provide that information for me. But with your mouth taped shut, I don’t see that happening.”

Margo just stares at him.

“You see Margo. I had my friend Jacob kidnap you. I do know my other associate, Lucius Wentz, has been following you. You see if you tell us what you know about the council. We will let you go but that will come at a price. I will remove the tape from your mouth.” Kaleb continued.

Kaleb proceed to take the tape off of Margo’s mouth.

“What can you tell us about the council?” Kaleb asks.

“My parents are on the council. Same with Lucius and his father. The witches are in charge. So far, all I know the council fears for what my power can do. My family never told me I was a witch or there was drama going between Lucius and I. I am just learning about the supernatural world. That is all I know,” Margo insisting.

Kaleb took in what Margo have him and still not convinced enough. His blood was beginning to boil and shouted, “Why do you think the council fears you?!”

Margo was startled by the turn in Kaleb’s voice. She biting her lips and suddenly afraid but replies, “ I don’t really know anything. They never explained any of this to me until recently. They told other people not mention anything to me. They made it law. I swear.”

Kaleb was getting more irritated by this conversation. He wants Margo to know something. It was not working. Thus, he continued to question Margo just to make her more scared. It was working.

“Do you know the leader of the council?” Kaleb yells.

“No”, Margo sobs,” I really don’t know anything. Please…I just want to go home.” Margo was full on begging and crying.

“I see.” Kaleb says.

Kaleb watches Margo in full out crying mode. He ignores the fact and knocks the chair over upon leaving the shed.

Margo hears Kaleb on the phone.

“Jacob. You bought me a useless newbie. She does not know anything. I will leave her to Lucius to have.” Kaleb shouts then hangs up. Then phones Lucius,”Hey Lucius. I got Margo here with me. She is all yours. “He leaves him a message. Kaleb comes back inside.

“Here’s the deal, I leave you with Lucius. He will take of care of you. But you stay here until he comes. I have to get back to my wife and daughter. See you soon.” Kaleb places the tape back over Margo’s mouth and leaves.

Margo starts to fiddle with her bonds on her hands. She looks around for a knife and saw one near the table. Inches her chair back enough to grab it she starts hacking away until her hands and feels are free. Going for the door, Margo listens to any movements outside, there was none. Margo flings the door open and runs until she can’t breath. Her luck changes when she hears a motorcycle not far from her. She hides for a while.

Meanwhile, Lucius powers off his motorcycle and takes a look at the shed . The door was wide open.

“Damn it.” Lucius spat. Calling Kaleb.

“Hello Lucius. I see you got my message. “Kaleb greeted.

“Yeah. I did. We have a problem though. “Lucius explained.

“What kind of problem?” Kaleb asked.

“Margo escaped.” Lucius whispered.

“What do you mean she escaped?” Kaleb nearly yelling at Lucius.

“The door was wide open when I showed up. She must saw the opportunity after you left. I know your wife and daughter need you right now. I will take care of it. I promise.” Lucius hung up soon afterward. Now, he needed to find where Margo was hiding.

Margo made sure to find water source to cover her trail. Luckily, the creek was running south from her location. Margo ran quietly as much as she could to avoid twigs and uprooted trees. She made it to the creek by listening to her surroundings. Walking and climbing on rocks, she made it to the east side of her backyard or to her street. Margo ran to her back deck door.

Banging on the door, Olga was in the kitchen and saw Margo. Olga rushes over and unlocks it. Margo just embraces her mother.

“Where have you been?” Olga asks her daughter.

“It’s something I can’t explain but I am glad to be home. “Margo replies while hugging her mother.

Olga pulls back and looks over Margo to make sure no harm came to her. She then tells her, “You were summoned by the council.” Then leaves soon after.

Margo gets home from being kidn*pped to being summoned by the council for what?
