Chapter 15-Lucius

1383 Words
Lucius sat in the Head of Council’s office with his father, Miles, and could not detest the fact a werewolf killed Magnus Weller. He also figured it was revenge for Margo’s parents being murdered in front of their daughter. Also, he was spacing out when his father was carrying on about them being traitors or something. Lucius has their vendetta to worry about. He couldn’t take it anymore and stand up. “Alright, Dad settled down will you? I know you want revenge for the Devereux family but they’re dead. Margo is on the run from the council. She will punished accordingly. I sent the vampires out to track them.” Lucius sighed and sat down again after telling his father. “Did the vampires find their location?” Miles asked. “They mentioned seeing them getting picked by Selma Knox but couldn’t prove anything otherwise.” Lucius replied. “Well, I guess we need more time to find them.” Miles shrugged and went back to work. Lucius left soon after and went over to see Maria Klein to give her an update regarding her children. He knocked. Maria opened the door, not expecting Lucius. She asked, “What are you doing here?” “I came to tell you. Ava and Thomas are alive but not Kaleb. They’re on the run-through from the council.” Lucius revealed. Maria didn’t say anything but slammed Lucius and walked back to his house the next street over. He still thinks about the power that Margo has and how he felt the thrill of the source in his veins. He craved it like a vampire drinking blood. It was becoming an issue that can’t Thomas. He wanted Margo’s power after getting a taste of it. He needed to find them but where could have they gone? Lucius decided to go back to his house. Running inside the house, he grabbed for a map and quartz crystal. The crystal kept swinging over the New England area of Maine. Somehow, the crystal knew that and instantly knew he had to travel to Maine. Grabbing his car keys, he rushed from the house. Driving the whole way without stopping for a break. Parking the car when he got close to their location but hid close enough. Margo decided to go outside and walk around the property completely unaware that Lucius is close by. Ava comes outside soon after and asks, “Do you think we are safe here especially after everything that happened back in Ever Green?” “I don’t really think so considering we are on the run from the council for events that happened recently.” Margo admitted but still unsure. “You are very sure that you wouldn’t be caught by running away,” Lucius said appearing from the woods. Ava shoved Margo behind her and said, “How did you find us?” “I used a map and quartz crystal to find your location. The vampires were too dumb to use that method.” Lucius admitted rubbing the back of his head. Ava was not having it and shifted forms then attacks Lucius. Lucius screamed loud enough for the others to hear in the house. Selma and Thomas both came running from the cabin to see what the commotion was. Serena stayed on the porch and decided not to get involved with scene happening outside. “What are you doing here?” Selma angrily asked Lucius. “Ava stop attacking him” Thomas ordered. Ava stops biting him on the leg and shifts back. Lucius still on the ground holding his leg and comments, “I only came because the vampires didn’t do their job right. Then that beast started to attack me out of no where.” Pointing at Ava. Selma goes over and grabbed Lucius from the ground. Thomas put Lucius’s arm around his shouldered then help stand up. Margo and Ava followed close behind. Lucius had to hobble up the steps and grunting in pain. Serena moved out of the way to allow them through. Thomas put Lucius on the sofa to check how much damage Ava did to his leg. He gave Ava look to say this does not look good. Lucius’s leg was going to have a nasty scar. Thomas took care of Lucius’s leg. “Lucius, why did come here?” Selma questioned. “I used a map and crystal to find your location.” Lucius explained. “Who’s magic signature did you use the find our location?” Selma asked. “I latched onto Margo’s signature. I can’t help it was that strong.” Lucius admitted to Selma. Selma gives Margo a look and clearly saying it was not a good thing they moved locations when they did. She clearly was not happy with how this is turning out. Ava stood back in the room clearly not in control if herself yet. She had to excuse herself to regain control. Thomas patted Selma on the shoulder and left the room to give Selma privacy with Lucius. “I know you killed my cousin for her magic and leaving her behind like garbage.” Selma said in angry tone. Lucius smiled at Selma. He later replied, “ Her magic was like a dream but not like Margo’s magic” Selma gave him a disgusted look and stormed from the living room. Margo stayed by the doot but ventured over to the couch. “Why were you following me back on campus?” Margo whispered loud enough for him to hear. Lucius looked over at her and was debating whether to answer the question. Instead, he just smiled at her. Then he said, “You don’t want to know the answer to that.” Margo had to leave the room like the rest. She found them in the backroom discussing what to do with Lucius. “We can’t just leave him here. It would lead the vampires straight to us. He works with the council. We could just get him to tell us everything that happened after we ran from the scene of the crime.” Thomas suggested. “Yeah…like he would tell us anything.” Selma said sarcastically. “Or we could give him a taste of his own medicine for messing with us.” Ava interjected. “No. We can’t do that. Not yet anyway. But we do need to find another location soon.” Serena said. Margo didn’t bother to say anything with their situation and left it as it is. Thomas looked over at Margo and asked, “What do you think we should do?” “Huh….Sorry what. Umm… I think we have to question him to get to him talk but that won’t be an easy task” Margo suggested. Selma shook her head and said, “Not going to happen. We can’t keep him here. He needs to leave. Then we need to pack and move around again. I have idea we leave him here for the trackers to find but not unscathed of course.” No one else spoke up. They all left the room and went back to the living room to where Lucius was. “We have terms you follow without question. You will tell us everything the council has on Margo and Ava regarding their situation. Then you will let us go and tell the trackers the search is off. Do you agree to our terms” Selma provided. Lucius thought about it and agreed, “You keep the wolf away from me.” Selma turned toward Ava and asked, “Do you agree to stay away from him?” Ava only nodded and sat in the armchair clearly not happy with the arrangement. She gave Lucius a disgusted look. The rest decided to chill in the living room and went to do their own thing. Leaving Lucius to his thoughts about what he was going to give information as told by Selma. The wolf freaked him out by the way she stared at him the entire night during dinner. He needed to think of a escape plan and fast. After when they went to sleep, he looked for a way out of his situation but it was no use. He was indeed trapped for now.
