Chapter 19- The Return

732 Words
The group spent the next couple of hours on the road driving all the way from Maine back to Pennsylvania. The entire time no one said anything but only looked out the window. Watching cars and the woods pass by to think what could happen once they set foot back into Ever Green. Margo thought about what the outcome could be. “Is anyone scared about what could happen when going back into town?” Serena asked. Killing the silence. “Yeah” Thomas chimed in. “Yes, Because we are technically criminals for fleeing the town after the showdown at Margo’s house. We are going to be facing the council. We can’t hide any longer” Selma informed them. Margo still silent and continued to looked out. She was not thrilled having to face Lucius and his father who she never met. This is going to be a hard pill to swallow for her own realization. She does not like the idea of having to deal with something that was never intent to do. Selma stopped at her house parents house. “Who’s house is this?” Ava asked who was silent since they drove back to this town. “My parent’s house” Selma answered. “Oh” Ava said looking away again and going back to not talking. Thomas looked at his sister and did not know what she is thinking. He turned towards Ava and said, “You might want to apologize to Mom for how things gone down since finding out about werewolf thing. I know you don’t think talking to Mom would solve anything.” “I don’t want to talk to her after she and Dad did to my birth parents. Why bring it up Thomas?” Ava angrily replied to Thomas. Ava got out of the van and ran off before anyone can say anything. “Where did Ava go?” Selma asked coming back to the van. “I do not know. Thomas and Ava almost got into argument beforehand.” Serena mentioned. “I didn’t see anything.” Margo shrugged. Thomas didn’t reply but was taken back by Ava retort. He never thought about that except how much pain it caused it. Wishing his sister would just stop running from everything that happened recently. No one knew what they were going to do since Ava ran off. Margo looked at Thomas. She has not thought of anything to say since yesterday. They had to look for Ava and fast before the council got her. Lucius was driving around town and saw a brunette girl running in the direction of the woods. He did not get a good look at her at first. Then thought he saw Ava running and needed to inform the trackers the werewolf was back. Lucius knew the others were back in town. Pulling the car over, Lucius got his phone out. “They’re back in town. Tell my father” Lucius ordered. Putting the car in park, Lucius decided to chase after the werewolf on foot. Knowing he was not as fast as the mutt but he had to try. The council was in fury of scrambling around getting preparations done for the upcoming trial of the runways being back in town. Miles was barking orders at the trackers to fan out and search the town for them. Everyone now knew they were back on town. Miles sat back watching everything unfold before him. He didn’t know this trial was going to conduct from the events. Knowing his son had a hand in the events that contributed to death losing some council members like Albert and Olga Devereux. He needed to help bring justice to the society. There was a knock on the door, “Come in” He ordered. Lucius was standing outside the door with the werewolf. He pushes pass and forces Ava to sit in the chair. Lucius shut the door after leaving. Miles looked at the young werewolf and asked, “How is it that I can sense your werewolf and not at the same time?” Ava didn’t acknowledge Miles's question at all just sat in silence. She just looked out the window. Also, knew her friends were looking for her. She felt this was not going to be a pleasant reunion either. It was going to take all of them to escape.
