Chapter 1

749 Words
Layla's POV   "Good night father, mother. I shall see you both in the morning." I said with a graceful tone in my voice and a slight bow. My parents, who stood hand in hand, both bowed before my mother came and laid her hands on my cheeks, planting a soft kiss on my head. I walked into my fathers arms and gave him a warm hug and slowly slipped through his fingers. I walked up the stairs and looked back to the dark brown eyes of my mothers, and the Hazel eyes of my fathers.  After entering the large room to throw a party in, where the walls were white with golden floral designs on them, I undressed into my black ripped jeans and white crop top to show a little bit of my skinny belly and placed my hair into a messy bun. I ran into my walk-in closet and placed on my black and white sneakers, then sprayed my favorite perfume before checking my phone. It was already nine when I read my friend's message.   Sara: Okay, so I found out he is going to be at that party that Blake is hosting tonight at 11. Meet at the park at 10 ish? Me: Duh! I can't wait for this, I know he is not expecting me to come because I told him I wasn't coming because of my parents. This is going to be awesome and the most spectacular surprise. I'm leaving now so wait for me! Sara: Hurry up girl! I chuckled at the last message my best friend sent me and walked over to my best. I placed the pillows underneath my cream with a golden lion's comforter to make it look like a body was snuggling under the sheets. I checked my phone once again and saw it was 9:15. I opened the window and slowly climbed out, slowly crawling on the little roof that was in front of the big tree. Looking down, left, right and even in the tree I was about to jump on, I didn't see a guard in sight.  Yeah, that's right, we got guards, and not for the reason you would think. I guess that explanation will come later on in the story. I slowly stood up, and then froze when a breeze hit me. f**k, I forgot my damn sweater. I huffed a strand of my dark brown hair from my face, climbed back into my window, walked into my closet, snatched my red hoodie off my hanger, then started from step one of going back to the window and climbing out.  This time, I stopped and checked to see if I had everything. My sweater, yes. My phone, yes. Okay, I was ready.  After being back on the roof, I stood up slowly and jumped onto the tree holding on to the branch for dear life. I wrapped my leg around, then hung upside down to look into the living room. I saw my mother sitting along with my father, cozy on the couch they sit on when they wanna be cuddling up under each other. I looked over to see one of the "men in black" standing by the entrance of the living room while glaring at the window.  By luck, he does not notice me.  I reached up onto the branch and slowly climbed down from the tree and took off running. I was by the gate when I looked at the bars and slid my body through them.  Before you ask, the bars are kinda spaced apart to the point a not too skinny, but thick person can squeeze through them. Which is me.  Once I was out of the prison, I threw my arms in the air jumping around before hearing my phone vibrate.  Mom: Just because you escaped, doesn't mean your father will not catch you missy. Be safe and be back before 2 do you hear me? I looked up to see my mother by the window of the kitchen and saw her waving to me slowly. She turned her head as if something caught her attention and walked back into the living room to join my father's smiling face and opened arms.  Gotta love my mom. I looked at the time and saw it was almost ten when I jumped and started running for the park. Luckily, it was a short distance and considering I am the fastest person on the track team, I can get there easily.
