Chapter-12 Unexpected Visit

Hope’s POV “What are you doing here?” I demanded, finally finding my voice. I pushed him away and wrapped my arms tightly around myself, trying to look more imposing than I felt. “I called you fifty-six times,” Leon hissed, his lips pressing into a thin, angry line. I could see he was trying hard to not lose his temper. “And your phone was switched off.” “I was taking a bath,” I replied flatly. “As you can see.” “That’s your excuse?” His eyes flashed. “You left me a cryptic text, switched off your phone, and gave me no f*****g way to reach you, and your excuse is that you were taking a bath?” “Well, you took your time telling me you were the head of some motorcycle club, and now you're mad because I didn't pick up your calls?” I retorted. “That's nice.” Leon blinked, clearly caught off guard. I held his gaze, refusing to hide how betrayed I felt. “Yes... I know. I had to find out from my parents that my mate is the leader of some kind of gang.” Leon ran a hand through his hair, his anger giving way to guilt. “I’m sorry,” he finally said. “I should have told you.” “Sorry isn't the solution every time, Leon,” I answered, my voice hard. “Do you know how humiliating it was to stand there clueless while my family told me everything about the man who wanted my body but couldn't trust me with the truth? What does that make me?” “Don’t reduce what happened between us to this... to my mistake. Please.” Leon stepped closer and tipped my chin up, forcing me to meet his eyes. “I wouldn't be standing here if you meant nothing to me,” he whispered, caressing my face. He took my hand and pressed it against his chest. His heart was pounding beneath my palm. “See? This is what the mere thought of losing you did to me.” “Then why did you not tell me?” I asked softly. “Why do you never tell me anything, Leon? You always evade whenever I ask you any question about your life.” “Because you and I come from two completely different worlds, doll.” His eyes darkened. “I'm sure your parents explained what kind of world that is. I wasn't sure if you'd…even understand.” “Maybe you should have talked to me before deciding what I could or couldn't understand.” I walked over to the open window, breathing in the cool spring air as the throbbing in my temples worsened. “I'm sorry,” Leon murmured, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around me. He buried his face in my neck, his hot breath sending a shiver through me. Despite my anger, desire rippled through my veins. “I'm here,” he turned me toward him and cupped my face. “I promise I'll tell you everything.” “How the hell did you even get in here?” A faint smirk touched his lips. “They call me the most feared man in the city for a reason, doll. I climbed up.” My eyes widened. “There are guards down there.” He shrugged. “There's nothing in this world that could ever keep me from you. You're mine... and what's mine always belongs to me. You can't ever outrun me, doll. Understand?” “Why would I?” I said, my voice all breathless. He studied my face for a moment before his mouth crashed against mine. I gasped against his lips, tasting him as his tongue met mine. His hand caught the knot of my towel and ripped it away, pulling me flush against him. My fingers curled into his hair as I kissed him back, losing myself in the desperate need for him. Leon pulled me into his arms, lifting me as my legs wrapped around his hips. The next thing I knew, I was on the bed, his body covering mine. My entire body lit up on fire as he kissed my neck, my wet core clenching with pure, desperate need. I wound my arms around his neck, arching up to pull him down against me, craving the heat of his skin against mine. I assumed he felt the same as he quickly stripped off his clothes before settling between my legs. My throat tightened as I watched the flex of his shoulders while he ripped open the foil packet with his teeth and rolled the condom on without ever breaking eye contact. My eyes drifted down between his legs and my breath hitched at the sheer size of him...hard and ready for me. Oh my... “You’re getting carried away,” my wolf warned. I blinked, the haze lifting immediately. I wanted him so badly inside me it hurt, and it took all my strength to remember why he was here in the first place. “We need to talk, Leon,” I panted. Leon stared at me in disbelief, breathing hard, his eyes wild with need. “Please.” He glanced down at his erection, still hard with unspent tension, then dragged a hand over his face and exhaled. His expression was almost pained. However, eventually, he lowered himself beside me and pulled the duvet over us, shooting me a look. “Fine,” he grumbled, pulling me closer. “Let’s f*****g talk.”
