The freezing sensation on Alexis’ skin starts to warm, it warms to pleasant and then goes beyond, moving quickly to scorching, just as Alexis is about to scream out, she feels like her skin is bubbling, there is too much pain to keep in. It is as bad as it was when Isla had control, but this time it is what she wants, but that knowledge doesn't make the pain lessen.
Just as Alexis' fingers grab at the soil below her hands trying to keep her body from its natural reaction of fleeing the source of the pain, it soothes once again as one by one the hands are lifted from her, the dagger is removed and she is able to heal, the tattoo feels different now, her back feels different, she feels different, she does actually feel a little lighter.
