Chapter 3The power came back on midweek. Rory was by turns relieved and disappointed. Relieved because he didn’t know how much longer he could sleep in the same bed as Zane and not jump the guy in the night, and disappointed because, well, he wouldn’t be sleeping in the same bed as Zane any more. Those nights spent with Zane had been nightmare free. It was still bitterly cold outside and there was little to do on the ranch save make sure the herd was supplied with feed and had access to water that hadn’t frozen over. Not having much to do gave Rory more time to think, and that was rarely a good thing. But with the modem working again, he at least had access to the Internet.
