Chapter 24

Nathan White's POV

"So, who's ready to get down?" I said and before anyone could answer it, I swung my leg and kicked everyone that was in my range. I was able to sneak to the top of the shoulder of one of the guards and did a backflip before landing on their faces.

I was about to kick someone's face before I heard some grunting behind me. I looked for a minute and saw that Lucca has turned to someone else. He was not Lucca Giovanni anymore, but Luke the Terminator was what we used to call him back in the day when he was a champion in boxing at Harvard.

I was smirking before he looked at me with bloodlust eyes. I avoided his gaze before going to kick more sorry asses for involving Laura in their kidnapping.

Lucca was attacking some of the guards, protecting my back as I did a somersault, kickback, and flying across the floor. I was so immersed in surviving the fight and accidentally kicked one of Lucca's legs.

"Dude!" He shouted at me before I landed on my feet. All of the guards have fallen as Lucca was rubbing his sorry leg.

"Sorry, did not mean to harm you," I said in a surrender position. I don't really want to mess up with Lucca when he was mad as hell to save his bride. We were dusting ourselves as we were running around to look around for some gateway or something. I looked at one of the guards for keys or a map to locate where they came from and luckily one of them has it.

"Here, look," I said as trying to get Lucca's attention. He was so immersed in expecting the forest and did not pay attention to me when I was explaining.

"Dude! listen" I said as I smacked his shoulder.

"Oh, sorry," he said as he rubbed his nape. I guessed unleashing Luke the Terminator once after a long time must be tiring.

"Okay, so, we were here. Now, we must go straight and turn right to find this gateway," I said as I was looking into my smartphone that was equipped with government-issued maps that can help Lucca save his bride, even though most of the work was done by me.

I'm nice that way. We walked for a while before turning into a corner and a huge dead-end with vines was in our view.

"Great! You got us all lost," Lucca hissed.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, Lucca. Watch and learn, my friend," I said as I was walking through the vine. Lucca followed a pursuit. He was amazed at me.

"Told you should have gone to that camp," I said as I picked up the pin lock of the door.

"I have a more important matter at hand," he murmured as I chuckled at his childish act. The door opened and I gestured for him to get in first.

"After you, Your Excellency," I said as I bowed at him.

"Shut up," he said before walking inside the door. I chuckled behind him before holding him from taking another step.

"Stop!" I said at him before he stopped moving at all. Seriously, this guy really tensed up when in a tough situation. Probably why he refused to accept the offer. I scanned the floor and the ceiling. Motion detector, high-end tech. No joke. These kidnappers really knew their stuff. I applauded at that.

"Stay here," I said as I took some powder and threw it into the room. The lasers started to show up. I smiled as I knew this stuff would happen. But, why would they go through all these measures for Laura Conti?

Who was she, really?

"Wow, I would get killed if you did not stop me," Lucca said as he looked at the lasers.

"Easy peasy. I have done this a thousand times," I said as I looked at him.

"Show off," he said before crossing his arms in front of his chest. I chuckled before looking into the room to look for the kill switch.

"There," I said before I went to somersault across the laser. I went under before getting up and backflipping without setting off the alarm. I did some cartwheel and did a flip before reaching the kill switch.

I smiled at Lucca and encouraged him to get to me. He shook his head. I surrendered as I killed the lasers. Lucca exhaled heavily before walking toward me.

"You should have done that before," I said as I looked at Lucca.

"If you wish to get caught," he said before going on without me.

"What, no kiss?" I said as I followed his pursuit.

Laura Conti's POV

I have lost track of time and days since I got kidnapped. I was being beaten by Lucia day by day and would only stop when it was nighttime. I guessed I have been here for at least 3 days or more. I wished for Lucca to look for me but my hopes died inside as Lucia said to me the other day that Lucca had some business outside of Italy.

But I was not convinced that I'm in Italy. The weather was so different and it was summer for god's sake!

"Well, well, well. Looks like sleeping beauty had already woken up today. Ready for your torture, little miss temptress?" Lucia said as she went to the table to take something out. I did not even know how I survived her tortures as it was so painful and hard but I recovered quickly the day after.

I was amazed, even at myself.

"What, cat got your tongue?" Lucia said as she approached me.

"I prefer not to answer your stupid question," I said as I was preparing for the worst. She chuckled at my response as she looked at her instrument of torture, a dagger.

"You know, I never knew why Lucca like you, perhaps it is because of your lack of humor," she said as she put the dagger into my stomach. I screamed from the pain because of the contact and because I did not expect her to actually stab me.

Usually, she just sliced my hands, making some bruise here and there, not actually hurting me but today was different.

"Yes, scream, scream with all might. I have all day to do this. But you know what really hurts because Lucca was not here to save you from my insanity. HA HA! HA HA!" She said before laughing like a crazy person.

"Oh, but I beg to differ," a familiar voice was ringing through my eardrums.

"Lucca," I said before darkness took over me.

Lucca Giovanni's POV

Shit, s**t, s**t. s**t!

I cursed as I went through the tunnel and got out of doors that I did not even know existed. Damn Nathan with his weird US technology. There was no electricity and nothing that I can identify from my point of view and I knew everything that needed to be known by a human being.

"You know, making that pout does not help us from getting to Laura faster," Nate said as he was walking ahead of me. He was the one with the GPS. I just have to watch his back as we were in unfamiliar territory, well at least for me, Nate probably has this written down in his hard drive. He's insane that way.

"Nice for you to finally join the party," a voice was greeting us out of nowhere. I can't see anyone that was talking to us.

"Come out, we know you were there," Nate said into the darkness. I thought he was crazy before a figure come into the light.

"Hello, we've finally met, Lucca Giovanni," he said. He was high built, lean, a bit muscular man who has caramel eyes, and was a brunette. Most likely resembled someone that I knew. Someone like Lucia.

"Please don't tell me, you're Lucia's brother," I said as I looked at him and he was looking at me.

"Well, actually, yes and I need your help," he said as he was leaning on the wall.

"Well, we need to get acquainted before we can help you," Nate said as he was ready to pounce whenever duty called.

"Leonardo, Leonardo Vincent Ricci, you can just call me Leo," he said as he was rubbing the back of his neck.

"Now that we know each other, I need you to do something for me," he said before I raised my hand.

"I know we knew each other with the name exchange and all but you have something that was dear to me. I need to know where she is," I said as I looked at him intensely. He did not even break my eye contact. Only Laura was not afraid enough to look away like most people did. I knew at that moment that he can be trusted.

"Okay, I will tell you where she is, but I just want you to help Lucia. She's sick and needs medical attention. Can you do that?" He said as his eyes were pleading. I nodded.

"If it was in my power, I will help her. now, tell me where Laura is," I demanded before a high-pitched scream was coming through the wall.

"Dammit," Leo hissed as he started running. We followed his pursuit and I only wished that my Laura was alright.
