Croesus, The King of Lydia, who known for his wealth ~Merriam-Webster Dictionary Camila Almada's POV Seriously, why can't I just enjoy a very nice weekend like everyone else? Oh yeah, because I was not normal and my real job was not for ordinary people. If you were wondering what I was doing right now, I was trying to crack a safe that I was not supposed to. "Why you guys have to give me something that was not in my field of expertise, you know, like handling a gun and daggers, sure but cracking a safe, what the hell?!" I said as I was trying to listen for the safe to crack without sounding the alarm. "Hey, it was Alfred's idea and you know why," Val said as he was chuckling in the intercom. I rolled my eyes as I knew that he cannot see me. Well, I will give my piece of mind to Alfred. "And also, we have something—" "Shh, I almost got it," I said as I was listening to the safe. It was clicking and clicking until it was opening. "Ah-hah!" I said as I opened the safe. My face lightened up before every blood was drained from me. Where were those documents? "Val?" I asked him but my intercom was silent. It was eerie silent as I was looking around before light was shining onto my face. "Thief!" A voice called after me and without a second thought, I went through the window as I ran through the glass and broke it. Sure, it will leave bruises in the morning but I have to make sure that I was not being caught. "s**t!" I said as I was jumping from the 55 floors of the building. I did not think this through. But thankfully, I did have a hook that I can use to swing myself from my certain death to the ground. I saw there were already people that were waiting for me. I smirked before I shot the hook and I was swinging onto the other building. "Come on, he's getting away!" The head chief of security was calling for me. I was looking for a while as there was a helicopter that was shining on me, they were keeping track of where I would go. "s**t," I whispered before I have to think of a better plan. I stopped at the edge of the rooftop before the chief of the Portugal elite forces was standing in front of me. "Well, well, you have nowhere to go now, thief!" He barked in Portuguese as he was looking at me. I was wearing a hoodie that covered my face as well as a mask. I did not let my hair out so that's why they think I was a man. That would get them off my track. "Did you? Or simply because I let you caught me?" I said in my altered voice like a man as I was looking around me. I saw there were police standing by on the ground and at the high point as a sniper was pointing their Dragunov at me. I smirked. "Well, until we meet again," I said before I clicked on the button that set up the distraction that I already put in place. It was loud as people were looking at the source. I was out of their sight before they can even say damn it. ***** I was back inside my apartment as I was getting out of my clothes. Yup, Black Lily was not a name that I asked for but they gave it to me as I would always put on lily's perfume whenever I stole something. It was for the best. I was heading toward the shower before someone was calling me. It was my director, Ms. Adella Lily, to see what I did there before I answered it. "Hello, Ms. Lily," I said as I was getting my hair down from a tight knot. "Where are you? The show was about to start in 2 hours!" She screamed as I was putting some distance between my phone and my ear. I chuckled before I looked at my face. It was bruised with a glass cut even though I have protected it. "Well, be here at the theatre in 30 minutes and do not be late. You know what, make that 20 minutes and I need to see you here by then, is that understood?" She said. I nodded before I remembered that she cannot see me. "Yes, ma'am. I see you there," I said before I ended the call. I sighed as I put the phone on the counter as I needed to find a way to hide those bruises. No matter. I needed to take a shower first because I stunk! After a few minutes in the shower, I was out of the bathroom and I was wearing my usual sundress as I was putting on my wedges. I took my handbag as I carried my passport around that was holding my real name, Camila Almada. I did have some of the fake ones but I needed to be real for this was a passion I can remember. I was getting out of the place before I took my important stuff like a wallet and phone. I needed to take the keys as well so that I can lock the door. I went out of the room and I was heading out to the National Theatre of Saō Carlos in Lisbon, Portugal. It has been 3 weeks since I was undercover as a dancer at the theatre and I was assigned to get those files in the safe tonight but unfortunately, I was being duped. I needed to find the reason behind that. "There you are! Come, come, we don't have much time," Ms. Lily said as she pushed me toward the backstage where I got to put on my makeup and into my costume. We were doing the Portuguese folklore as the people were excited about it for the Spring celebration. "Okay, let's see what you can do with her," Ms. Lily instructed as she shoved me into the makeup artist and hairstylist. I did not care much for my hair as I just washed it. "Girl, your hair is still wet," she said as she was holding up my hair as she blew dried it. I chuckled sheepishly as the makeup artist was making her magic on me. A few minutes later AKA 30 minutes, I was transformed from a scrawny maid into a Cinderella. It was a dream come true. "Okay, we need to make sure that our rehearsal is perfect. Positions, everyone!" Ms. Lily shouted as she clapped her hands. I was taking my position. I was not in the lead but I can pretty much say that I was important as well. So, we danced and danced according to the script and I was breathing happily as I was not getting tied up to do something dangerous and I can be myself. I was happy, to say the least. "Okay, that was splendid. Now, I hope we don't mess up for the big show. Let's go! Showtime!" She shouted again as I went to get my makeup fixed and drank some water. Man, dancing can be hard! I took a breath as the curtains were up and we were beaming at the spectators that filled every seat in the theatre. The music was playing as I saw the male lead and the female lead as they started the story. I was waiting for my part as I looked at them. People in my group were anxious but we will make it through. As the cue for us to show up on stage, we danced and danced like we practiced as we showed our emotions on our faces as we were dancing to the music. It was magical as I was looking at the vast audience, with no one particular. As I was dancing, I did not realize that I was being watched by someone with more interest than I can think of. Nicolas Garcia's POV "Sir, we have landed in Portugal," my assistant said as I was reading some stocks market in the newspaper. A piece of news about my building was being attacked did bring me out of my comfort in Spain to its adjacent country, Portugal. I must get in touch with the police about this incident. "Why thank you, Luis," I said as I patted his shoulder as he'd briefed me for my schedule today. "So, you will be meeting with the chief of police elite that was responsible to catch the man that was breaching your office. Then, you will have dinner with one Ms. Adella Lily as she was requested by your—" I stopped him as I knew where that might be going. I sighed. Oh, mother, how sly of you. "You know what? I wanted to do something fun tonight," I said as I looked at him. He was confused as his eyebrows were knotted together. "Excuse me, sir, but the meeting with Ms. Lily, it's—" "It's okay, Luis. I will tell my mother but first I wanted you to get me a ticket to the Spring celebration in the National Theatre of Saō Carlos. Can you do that?" I asked him as I arched my eyebrow at him. He nodded. "Yes, sir," "Goodman," I said before I got out of my private plan and I went to the suite that I have booked, well, Luis did it but it was meant for me. The police can wait until tomorrow. ***** After some time and Luis did get the ticket for a very expensive price, not that I cared, I was set to the theatre. It was crowded as it was famous for being the best performance in Lisbon, might as well in Portugal. I was smiling as I cannot wait to get inside. After I showed them my ticket, I was led to my sitting on one of the private booths as I was given opera glasses. It was nice as I thanked them and the show was about to start. The male and female lead were going at it first before a group of dancers came onto the stage and that's where I saw her. No doubt, that figure, that face, that smile. I have been dying to see that again and I was frustrated that I cannot find her. And now I did, I will never let her go. "You're been surrounded, mi estrella," I said as I was smiling before I instructed Luis to find that woman on the stage, dancing happily without the care in the world.
